Book Description

From bestselling author Robin Slick comes a funny, engaging novel of second chances and rock and roll.

Annie loathes middle age because in her mind, as long as she avoids mirrors in brightly lit rooms, she is still a cool, cutting edge hipster with a scandalous secret she has kept for almost three decades.

At age seventeen, Annie had a love affair with a man ten years her senior -- legendary British rock guitarist Mick Saunders. Now, feeling stuck in a boring, faltering marriage and desperate to change her life, she is unexpectedly given the chance to reconnect with Mick while chaperoning her fledgling rock star teenagers on a tour across America.

To Annie, this opportunity to recapture her past is a dream come true. But will she and Mick be able to pick up where they left off?

About the Author

Robin Slick is a rock music obsessed fiction writer living in downtown Philadelphia with a strong desire to jump into a time machine and land in London during the 1960s. She is the author of Three Days in New York City and its sequel, Another Bite of the Apple, light-hearted erotic novels published by Mundania/Phaze Press. She is editor and contributor of a short story collection, Thirty Nine and Holding...Him and the soon to be released Volume II, 39 and Still Holding. Her short story "Daddy Left Me Alone with God" appears in the new anthology, Rebellion - New Voices of Fiction, published by Rebel Press in July 2006. You can find Robin's work in print and on the web everywhere from heady places like In Posse Review and Slow Trains Literary Journal to give-heady places like Clean Sheets and Playgirl Magazine. She lives vicariously through her rock star daughter -- bass player extraordinaire, Julie Slick, and her amazing drummer son, Eric Slick -- who were featured in the Picturehouse Films documentary, Rock School.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant, heart-filled Rock n Roll Romp February 18, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
It's a rare gift when a writer can make you laugh at the world, yet still provoke you to ponder the larger questions about life. Robin Slick delivers both in her newest novel that features baby boomer, Annie, now mom to two gifted teenage musicians who are on the road to fame. The road trip is Annie's opportunity to reunite with an unrequited love from her rocker past--a love who is globally famous. From five star hotels to flea bags, crowded bus rides, late nights and sleep-deprived days on the road, you'll wonder about your own suppressed desires, and you'll fall in love with Robin Slick's distinctly impassioned, wise and comedic voice.

More About the Author

Robin Slick is a raging liberal living in downtown Philadelphia who wishes she could jump in a time machine and travel to London where she'd party with the Beatles, Eric Clapton, and all of their pals in the late sixties. She is the writer of several published short stories and novels, a nominee for a Best American Short Story award, former fiction editor at both NFG Magazine and Philadelphia Stories, but sadly is probably most well known as the mother of Eric Slick, drummer for Dr. Dog, and Julie Slick, solo artist and bassist for the Adrian Belew Power Trio. Visit her on the web at http://www.robinslick.com to check out various interviews, reviews, and links to published works.

Her interests include rock music, world travel, TM, and eating/cooking gourmet vegetarian meals.

She also loves dogs more than people but does not like cats though she should have one, given the fact that she has an unnatural fear of mice.

Robin is currently busy at work on her new series, Moon Traveler, in which young woman down on her luck is startled to learn that she is a Moon Traveler -- one of twelve people worldwide who can astrally project themselves at night and alter personal and universal history with both humorous and disastrous results.

Moon Traveler, Book One, is a kleine novelle (Amsterdam speak for tiny novel), written in the old comic book style of good vs evil with cliff hanger endings and a new novelle published each month. Readers are encouraged to actively participate, and those whose ideas are incorporated will be given a free download and their name used as a character if they so desire. It is envisioned as a jam session for both other writers and readers to chill out and have some fun. So read Book One, contact Robin at robin@robinslick.com and tell her where you would like to see Kate travel next
