Daddy Loves Me (Cuddle Up & Read Together)

I bought this book along with "Mommy loves me" and my son loves both books. He will only read it with either my husband or myself. He will not read it with his grandparents. He has learned to say "Daddy loves me" "Cuddle up and read together". He has learned to spell Daddy and always to say "Cause daddy loves me". This is a great book for my 3 year old. I would buy this and "Mommy loves me" for others as a gift.

I don't think this book is as great as it's companion, "Mommy Loves Me," but my opinion is based on my real life. Whereas "Mommy Loves Me" covered the types of things I do with my child, "Daddy Loves Me" doesn't cover things my husband typically does with our child. This book has daddy making handmade cards with the baby, planting flowers, buying the baby fruit as a treat, and taking the child to the toy store...but not to buy toys...among other things.

My husband and I have been reading this book to our son since he was a month old and it is by far his favorite book. He is now six-months old and we read this book to him numerous times a day. And he often reaches for this book when his grandmas are visiting for yet another person to read to him...he even loves to turn the pages himself. I read several of the other reviews and I think that one of the nicest things about this book is the healthy, positive affiliations it is helping our son grasp: fruit is the special treat that Dad gets me at the store, not sugary pastries; reading together on the couch is more important than what is on television; sharing chores can be fun (doing dishes together and popping the soap bubbles); entertaining ourselves creatively when the weather prohibits us from playing outside is fun; exercising together around the neighborhood is enjoyable (taking the bike out for a ride); we can play with stuffed animals at the toy store without buying anything and still have a great time; MOST IMPORTANTLY, it establishes that there is always a "favorite time of day" that involves DAD.

I cannot say enough positive things about this book. This simple yet thoughtful, nurturing, encouraging story is, in my opinion, one of the must haves for new parents!!!

This is a great book, along with it's companion Mommy Loves Me. With obesity being such a huge issue in our country and fast food and sweets being the norm with many families, I LOVE the fact that fruit is a treat in this book! We try to instill good eating habits and this just helps the fact that fruit is very sweet and rewarding even though it is still good for you.

Also, I love the fact that they can go into a toy store to look at the toys and not buy any. Could that mindset solve some tantrums, perhaps? We don't ALWAYS have to buy something if we go into a store.

It is a cute book, colorful, and our boy just loves it. We even bought a second copy of each so we didn't have to continually bring the books up and down the stairs since they are his favorite.

My son loves this book so much! He calls it the "Me Book." We bought it when my son went through a phase of only wanting Mommy and this was his special book to read with Daddy. He loves the pictures of the bears and all the things the daddy and baby bear do together. It's really cute listening to him and his daddy read this!

Our twin daughters were about 1 1/2 when we got them this book and for quite a long while it was their favorite book, like for a year maybe even. The art work is very appealing and the girls seemed to really get drawn in by all the metallic foil in the printing. The cadence and rhyming is very good, and the repetitive "'cause daddy loves me" was a nice punctuation. And the story is nice, especially the not buying toys when in the toy store. As they got older and even now at a few months past 3 years old when we read it we have them find things in the picture "where's the..." or we'll point to something and ask 'what's that?". I went to the publishers website about a year ago to see if there were more than just this and "Mommy Loves Me" but it was just these two available. Definitely recommend this one.

As a new father whose son is going through a "Mommy" phase, this book was a welcome addition to our library. My son's favorite book is "Mommy Loves Me," so this is a great accompaniment to that book. The only negative is having every page end with "Daddy loves me." This repeated phrase kind of acts like overkill and the book would be just as good without it. Other than that line, I'm thrilled we bought this. Picures are excellent, as well.

My two year old son loves this book. It is very colorful and entertaining!

Great book. Not as good as mommy loves me, but still a great book that I highly recommend.

I bought this book for Father's Day. It's cute enough, and shows the characters involved in activities besides the usual tools-and-sports type things. My toddler likes the shiny pictures.
