Mancala – a part of the “Cultural Classics Collection” is an all-time favorite, possibly even the “Oldest Game in the World”. Extraordinary claim but versions date back to 7000 B.C. Often referred to as, “The National Game of Africa”, this game can be played anywhere. Our version is crafte from solid wood as we wanted to capture the simplicity of design and beauty of the original boards while integrating the regional craftsmanship of the indigenous people. Each game includes: solid wood playing board – pictured on the board are the Ancient African Petroglyphs of the Tenere Desert, located in the middle of the Sahara. The “herd” pictured includes Elephants, Gazelle, Rhinoceros and other native species. 48 African trading beads - there are four different styles of beads (12 each) included in this set. The original trading beads were used as currency on trade routes all over Africa. Solid Wood hinges and closure. Mancala history booklet/rule book. For 2 Players or Teams ages 8 and up.

Reflecting traditional African values, players encouraged participation by onlookers making it perhaps the most social two-player game around.
