Inspired by his father's job, Rodney decides that he too should take action: "I'll get with my friends and together we'll try/ to hurt ourselves badly-perhaps nearly die/ We'll smoke cigarettes til we're green in our faces/ and spill Big Mac coffee in delicate places/ two tactics on which we can place our reliance/ to get us big bucks from some corporate giants." After winning big money in his suit, Rodney imagines becoming a trial lawyer himself: "My winnings will mean my great wealth is achieved,/ with shares to the victims too small to perceive." Avaricious Rodney casts his net from medical malpractice to murder in this cutely illustrated but biting little book, one guaranteed to net a laugh from anyone who's ever chuckled at a lawyer joke.

In Daddy I Wanna Be A Lawyer: And Makes Lots Of Money is witty satire on the usual career descriptive books about being a lawyer which is the usual fare for children. Author Larry Goldfarb offers a poem style text laced with barbed wit and enhanced with simple illustrations as the yearnings of ten-year-old Rodney wanting to become a trial lawyer like his father and abuse the judicial system for personal profit are laid bare for all to see. Pointedly funny from first page to last, Daddy I Wanna Be A Lawyer is especially recommended reading for anyone who has ever dreamed of being a lawyer -- or has a kid who does.

Daddy, I Wanna is a laugh-out-loud love letter to those who would, as the book says, abuse the legal system for their own fun and profit. It'll make you laugh, and it'll make you angry;

Someone took a shot,in fact lots of them, at attorneys and how they can (and do) abuse the system, turning it into an injustice (except for themselves) system --Moozer's review is dead on
