5.0 out of 5 stars Mix makes it Resonate!
The Mix is back! 15 tracks of pure pacific northwest beats! This albums rips it up from start to finish...

"Till Da Sun Cums Up" will keep the party rockin', and "Big Johnson" will have the ladies droppin'....

Watch out all you playa fakers - "Daddy's Home - And the rent is due!"

Check out the Mix live this fall, and support a brother...

5.0 out of 5 stars Maybe not Swass, but baby, Daddy's Home Indeed!, September 26, 2003

On first listen this album doesn't really sound that great, although 2 Horse caught my ear the first listen through. Listening several more times through and realizing Mix is the ORIGINAL P.I.M.P, he turns out some sweet tracks that you'll have to listen to for yourself and appreciate. Just wait until he breaks it down...Bill Gates County Fool! Mega-PIMPIN!

Wow I never thought I would ever rate a Sir Mix-A-Lot cd this low but this cd is very very different than his older ones. Some of the production doesn't fit Mix at all along with most of these lame hooks. It sounds like Mix is trying to appeal to the radio more on here than before. It was so awesome to hear Mix was coming out with a new album and I couldn't wait, but after hearing this I wish he would have just stayed retired so he wouldn't have this weak album in his great catalog.

4.0 out of 5 stars what happened?, November 5, 2004

I'm not saying this is a bad record, in fact it is a really good one but why did you have to change your voice up for? Thats the only thing that gets to me but other than that it's worth getting to any mix fan. Please return to your traditional sound on your next cut mix. I respect that you want to experiment but i really hope that this is the only album. The lyrics, beats and styles are tight so don't think this record is bad but if your used to the old mix sound this may take a while to get used to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sirmixalot is back!, January 4, 2004
By
This review is from: Daddy's Home (Audio CD)
After 6 years, Sirmixalot is back. Daddy's Home has all new material. He moves from the "Baby got back" stage and gets in to other subjects. In my personal opinion, Mix is deciding to keep his fans up on what's real. I used to live in Seattle so I know some of the areas he mentions in his songs from the past, up to now! One of my favorite tracks is the title track, "Daddy's home." He says that after his 6 year disappearance, he's back and he collectin' rent...! Go Mix! If you don't like this CD, your not a true Sirmixalot fan at all and you need to listen to somethin' else. It's going to be the realist thing you ever heard! My other favorite track is called, "Y'all fools don't know." When Mix says that somethin' has happened to him, it's real. Get this CD and play it loud!

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD is the sh-i-znit!, February 13, 2004

Man, Mix-a-lot did again, another classic album! These tracks show all the new-school cats how it's really done! Make sure to listen to track 6-I get charged everytime I hear it. Im telling you-the new school rapper/dj's ain't got nothing on Mix-a-lot, except maybe DJ Boss Pimp from chicago, but really he sounds just like Mix-a-lot, but his (DJ Boss Pimp's) raps is more explicit.

I listened to this entire cd in less than a minute. I guess not even Sir Mix A Lot isn't infallible. I don't know what's sadder; the fact this thing was released or the fact that i'll never get that fifteen bucks back.

5.0 out of 5 stars As Heard on the Russ Martin Show, March 2, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Daddy's Home (Audio CD)
The latest offering from Sir Mix-A-Lot even featured on the Russ Martin Show, in Dallas. The show uses some of the songs off of this CD as bumpers going in and out of breaks. The Big Johnson and Ya'll fools don't know are great songs on the CD. If you liked is old stuff, you'll like this as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Daddy's Back, September 18, 2003

All i have to say is damn. This CD is amazing. Every track has something different. This is the best since Chief Boot Knocka. My favorite songs are "Till Da Sun Cums Up" and "Ya'll Don't Know". "Big Johnson" and "Poppi Grande" are hilarious! The best line on the whole CD is close to the end when some latino girl says "I love it when he eata my taco". I almost lost control of my car when i heard that! One thing that makes this CD so good is the production. Mix did a great job in laying down some mad beats, they make the songs THAT much better. Go out and buy this CD, it is DAMN good.
