Book Description

December 1, 2008
Giselle Doran is a sexy 18 year-old siren that's all about the Benjamin's. Her father is a king in the drug distribution game, and she viewed her father as the perfect man, the type of man she wanted to marry. Shawn is all she's ever dreamed of, or so it seems. She went from being a princess to being a queen, but the royalty didn't come without a price. After losing everything, including her family and being locked away in prison for murder, she realizes that the money, clothes, and cars mean nothing without them, and not even the love she has for her husband can bring back everything he took away from her. Being an heiress to a drug empire doesn't guarantee the life of a princess.

Mimi Gordon was never attracted to the drug dealers or men at all until she met Tony. The lavish life that Tony provided her with only made her want for more. After Tony leaves her high and dry, she finds love with James. James who was recently released from prison has a plan: to become a king in the drug game. Mimi's blissful life quickly turns to sorrow when James acquires a new alias that takes over turning her life upside down.

Follow these two women through their struggle to survive loving a man who destroys everything thing they ever cared about, and see how their paths cross in the most unusual way.

More About the Author

Brittani Williams was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, where she currently resides. She began writing when a school assignment required her to write a short play. This assignment showed her how far her imagination could go and it also helped her escape the drama of an unhealthy and abusive relationship between her mother and stepfather. With writing only being a hobby Brittani grew into an adult and attended a few different colleges. Writing still stayed a hobby but she strived for a degree, unfortunately she could never settle on one that fit her interests. 94 college credits later, she's taken Nursing Prerequisites, Education classes, Paralegal Studies and Fashion Design Majors and still had yet to find what she loved.

After much encouragement from family, friends and co-worker alike Brittani, now a single mother focused on writing again while on a break from school. She completed her first manuscript in 2005 which was titled Automatic Princess. After months of research she found a publishing company that she wanted to submit to. She submitted the manuscript and received a quick response. Within four months she had signing a two book contract with Q-boro books, a publisher in Queens NY.
The last two years have definitely been a blessing for Brittani with the release of Daddy's Little Girl and tons of great feedback from readers all over. She has had the opportunity to participate in two anthology projects Fantasy (Urban Lifestyle Press) and Flexin' & Sexin' (Life Changing Books) with some of the hottest authors in the game. With the release of Sugar Walls, her sophomore novel she had four projects in circulation, all released in the same year. In 2008 she's coming back even stronger with The Cathouse, a novel that she co-wrote with authors Anna J and Laurinda D. Brown in June 2008. Her next novel Black Diamond will be released in December 2008 on Qboro books with a sequel to follow in 2009.

Her next venture is starting her own publishing company, Trendsetters Publications, a Philadelphia based company that will publish fiction novels in the genres of Urban, Erotica and Contemporary. The company will release four novels at the end of 2008, two of which are the first two installments in a teen series written by Brittani called The Pretty Committee. The series will focus on many issues that teens of today experience and will be able to capture those that have moved on to adult books without them feeling like the books are for children. With this teen series, she plans to do a school tour and also plans to start up a creative writing scholarship for her Alma matter, Dobbins Vocational High School, in Philadelphia.

Now, this is a career for Brittani and she's found what she loves. She dreams of becoming as successful as some of her favorite author's and one of her goals is to score a major publishing deal in 2009. Brittani is the mother of a six year old and is currently hard at work on more novels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crisscrossed, April 4, 2007
By
D. Frazier (Cleveland, Ohio) - See all my reviews
(VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Daddy's Little Girl (Paperback)
Daddy's Little Girl, by Brittani Williams, introduced Giselle Doran, the daughter of big- time dealer Terrell (Big T) who made sure that she had everything her heart desired. Giselle adored her father and no one compared to him. When her mother was tragically taken away from her, she stepped up her game and took on her mother's role as caregiver to Terrell and her brother, Akil.

Terrell introduced Giselle to Shawn, his new business partner, and for her it was love at first sight. She took on a `by any means necessary' approach to snag him but will the fruits of her labor be fulfilling?

Mimi Gordon's upbringing was nothing close to Giselle's. She had been abandoned by her mother and raised by Grandmom, her grandmother. She was never interested in thugs until she met Tony, of whom Grandmom disapproved. Tony showed Mimi the life of long money and being `that' girl. When they broke up, had she learned her lesson about loving a `bad' boy? Then James came along and not under the best circumstances. As their relationship blossomed, would James provide her with the love and security that she desperately seeks? Or would he prove to be worse than Tony?

Giselle's and Mimi's lives collided, head on, from two totally different directions. The paths were laid for this collision by the men they loved, but how? Brittini Williams will guide you through the tangled web in `Daddy's Little Girl'.

This novel is excellently written. At first glance, the years the chapters are dated are not chronological and would appear to confuse the reader. The contrary happened as I read it. I followed along easily and did not have to refer back to see if I missed something. The story played like a movie in my mind which, to me, validated that Ms. William's characters were developed well. There was no struggle in reading this book. The transition between chapters was smooth and the air of mystery she created was awesome. The way the relationships between the characters unraveled was what sealed the deal in my rating for this novel. I recommend that all avid urban fiction readers pick this book up now!

4.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of Drama, April 1, 2007
This review is from: Daddy's Little Girl (Paperback)
At first I was hesitant about this book but the more I read it the more I wanted to see what was gonna happen. There was plenty of drama that's for sure.Mimi Gordon didn't like bad boys until she came across Tony.He provided her with the finer things and it only made her want more. After Tony she meets James who has plans to become king of the city.James' new identity takes over leaving Mimi sad and frustrated by the sudden turn of events.
Giselle Doran is a high maintenance female. She is daddy's little girl and goes from that to being a queen when she marries Shawn. It doesn't come without a price and after losing everything Giselle is locked up for murder and she realize the material things don't mean anything without her family.
I like the characters but James was one of those characters that you hate but make the book worth reading.I would recommend it.
