Developing strong relationships with pre-teen daughters,
This review is from: Dad's Everything Book for Daughters (Paperback)
Many men have few problems raising their sons, but are completely lost when dealing with a daughter. "Dad's Everything Book for Daughters" is a book to help dads connect with their daughters during the pre-teen years and establish the strong relationship that will help both of them weather the teen years as well as life as a grown up. The book is divided into four sections: What Every Girl Needs From her Dad, Tips for Connecting With Your Daughter, Connecting from Far Away, and Praying for Your Daughter. By far the largest section of the book is the one on Tips for Connecting With Your Daughter. Many of the tips are items that the author has done with his daughter and found effective. Others are nothing new in the area of advice for pre-teen parents. Still others are insightful and offer the sharing of new ideas that a caring dad can add to his repertoire of ways to relate to his daughter. While the author indicates that the book is targeted to the 8 - 12 year old age group many of the ideas can be used on much younger daughters and people with five-year-old daughters and older should consider the book. While this book can provide much needed direction to some dads and at least a few gems for even the most experienced dads, I might also suggest it's companion book for moms: "Mom's Everything Book for Daughters". Together they provide a pretty thorough guidebook to building a strong, personal relationship with your pre-teen daughter.

Some common sense written out,
By M. D. Thomas "ReadingSailor" (New London, CT) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dad's Everything Book for Daughters (Paperback)
This book was basically filled with common sense ideas for connecting with your daughter. I found some cute ideas that I may impliment in my own home, however, for the most part the book was filled with things that good parents should be doing anyway.
This book is worth reading if for no other reason than a gentle reminder of what Dad's should be doing if they've been caught up in the fast pace of life.

Practical orientation,
This review is from: Dad's Everything Book for Daughters (Paperback)
Dr. Trent offers a plethora of practical ideas and ways for a dad to connect with his daughters during pre-adolescence and the teenage years. Not every idea will work for every father-daughter relationship, but every dad will find a few ideas for better connecting with his little girl.

Dad's everything?,
By Dirk P. (The Great Lakes State) - See all my reviews

Some good suggestions for day to day communication, can't wait to try some out. Although the author is very religious some may not share his passion, or beleifs. It was somewhat suprising when the text seemed to inevitably drift back to God.
