You will not hear a better fiddler doing some of the classic oldies. With two he wrote himself and the waltzes are beautiful. If you like old time fiddle music with lots of melody, and not just trying to set the woods on fire, then you will love this CD.

Byron Berline has long been considered one of the best of the country/old time fiddle players. His knowledge and experience with the standard catalog of tunes is impressive. What is better yet is the enthusiam with which he plays these standards. You will not find better versions of tunes like Ragtime Annie and Limerock. Berline's tone and use of grace notes throughout make for an exciting listening experience.

Anybody who's interested in hearing brilliant old school fiddle playing without having to strain to listen through the snap, crackle and pop, will love this album. Clean production. Brilliant playing. Full of great ideas for pickers looking for variations on Bill Cheatham (although that particular track is not on this album, there are close variations.)
