With a big-screen, widescreen image to knock your socks off, Daewoo's 47-inch, high-definition-ready DSJ-4710CRA is perfect for medium-scale, budget-conscious home-theater aficionados. The rear-projection set offers multiple high-definition inputs including a terminal to let you hook up your PC. Digital convergence ensures setup accuracy, and several onboard technologies maintain superior image quality from standard- and high-definition sources.
The DSJ-4710CRA offers a picture with extraordinary brightness (1,000 cd/m2) and astronomically high contrast (10,000:1). A choice of 4 picture modes lets you adjust the image to suit your program material (standard, dynamic, cinema, and user). Two-tuner picture-in-picture lets you watch TV and one input source simultaneously, or 2 separate inputs, or 2 separate TV stations, viewing one picture inset over the other.
A motion-adaptive digital 3-D comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). The DSJ-4710CRA also performs 3:2 pulldown detection and reversal. DVD mastering introduces a common distortion when adjusting 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video; reverse 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this distortion, removing the redundant information to display a film-frame-accurate picture.
The set's video connections include 2 component-video inputs (480i/p, 1080i); 1 PC input (15-pin D-Sub), 3 composite-video jacks, 2 S-video inputs, and 2 RF coaxial inputs (for an antenna and an older VCR or cable box).
An onboard amplifier pumps 15 watts per channel through 2 (left/right) speakers, with Dolby Virtual Surround to simulate enveloping, spacious surround sound. You have the option to tailor the character of the sound to your preference using the onboard 5-band graphic equalizer or any of 5 different sound modes: standard, movie, music, news, and user.

This tv is HIGHLY recommended great clear picture, the built in sound is more then enough without the help of external surround sound. The features on this TV are also excellent. I highly recommend this TV for High Definition cability as well Clear as a window!

Recently I was shopping for a HDTV and I was having a hard time finding tvs that were under my $1500 budget. At first I was looking at a 47" toshiba model at bestbuy, but then I saw this tv by daewoo and at $949.99 it was nearly $450 cheaper than the toshiba. I am very happy with the tv, the picture is great when I play my PS2 or DVDs. The normal cable tv is lacking at this point, but I believe that is just because it needs to distort the image to fit the wide screen, and I havent upgraded to an HD box yet. Besides that the picture seems just as clear as the toshiba I was looking at, and it is feature packed. Even if the picture is even a little lacking (which i dont think) it was $450 cheaper so I guess you can take the good with the bad. But I highly recommend this tv if you are loooking to upgrade on a budget.

I got this and then got digital cable with HD. Wow. You'll want to watch this in a darkened room, but the picture and sound are really excellent.
