Peggy and her husband Jack left the U.S. and moved to Africa to protect the animals. The poachers would get back at them by kidnapping their son. They abandoned him in the forest when they found out that his back and leg were deformed. Dafidi was raised by gorillas. He saw how gentle they were. He played, danced, jumped, and climbed, with the baby gorillas. He was later spotted by a tourist on safari. He was reunited with his parents who refused to be scared away. Dafidi was forced to return to Kansas. He struggled to adapt to his new home and new environment. He worked hard to overcome disability and pain to take complete control of his body. He defied gravity and the laws of energy. The more he danced and floated, the more energy he seemed to have. His fancy footwork became a trademark. Tears were replaced by cheers, and he became champion of the world! This is a story of hope over despair, and triumph over trauma.
