Book Description

January 1, 2003
Mike Morgan presents 25 stories about the larger-than-life exploits of the SAS and SBS in World War II - an SAS Jeep patrol in France outnumbered fifty-to-one by SS troopers, who shot their way out to safety in their bullet-riddled vehicle, killing a quarter of their opposition; an SAS soldier who talked his way through enemy roadblocks in North Africa, in full British uniform, and tore a strip off the guard for neglecting to check his papers; and another, who walked the whole length of Italy to escape after his raid went wrong. Supported by a selection of rare archive and action shots, this comprehensive collection includes some previously unpublished stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars ALL TRUE WARRIORS!, April 27, 2008
Mike Morgan does it again in his book "Daggers Drawn" which is a treasure trove of vignettes on Britain's most colorful and heroic individuals to ever serve in the most elite units in Britain and arguably the world. The book covers the exploits of these individuals while serving in Special Boat Service/Squadron (SBS) and Special Air Service (SAS) during the early years, which revolves around World War II era. Many of the gentlemen (Paddy, Sterling and other great unsung heroes) are "plank owners" and were integral to the evolution and expansion of these units in post World War II. This book brings light to other historical works giving them much more character and understanding of the individuals and not just a cursory blurb. I highly recommend this book for the true military professional and historical military reader. I would also like to recommend you read Mike Morgan's book "Geordie - Fighting Legend of the Modern SAS" about another great warrior.
