Book Description

2008
He was unwanted, unclaimed, unimportant . . .

Until the prophet demanded his presence at the feast of the new moon and secretly anointed him king of Israel.

In that moment, everything--and nothing--changed.

There was no one to confide in, no outlet for the burning questions--his secret was safe with no one. But the Habiru guessed and swore their allegiance to him. The final words of a dying warrior seared into his soul: "Yahweh has given you much. Take only what comes from His hand. He will place you where you need to be so that you will be able to do the task given to you."

He would cling to these words for strength time and again as Yahweh led him first into the court of the troubled king, then onto the battlefield to face the giant Goliath--all the while binding his life and loyalty to the prince whose throne he must someday take.

He was Yahweh's beloved one, Israel's Dahveed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dahveed: Yahweh's Chosen, April 24, 2009
This review is from: Dahveed: Yahweh's Chosen (Paperback)
I really need to thank my friend who got me Terri Fivash's first book Joseph. It was a masterpiece that I found myself reading several times. Then I read Ruth and Boaz and I was sure then that I had a new favourite author. The ending of Ruth and Boaz left me anxiously awaiting - for almost a year - the availability of Dahveed. I honestly thought she had outdone herself on the first two books and wondered whether Dahveed would be up to par. That was until I actually read Dahveed. What an amazing book! Never has an author's skill of story telling impressed me more. Not only is she a master story teller, but she is able to stay strictly in line with the biblical account of the story she is telling. Her background in history allows her to pay incredible attention to detail while she weaves an intricate cast of characters into the story and draws the reader into another time and place. I literally could not put these books down until I had finished them - especially Dahveed. This book takes an intimate look at the early life of one of the most amazing men who ever lived - Israel's beloved Dahveed - and allows the reader to share in his joys, sorrows, trials and triumphs. It takes the reader on a journey that encompasses the circumstances of his birth, spans his childhood and ends with him on the threshold of manhood poised to become God's Warrior. Reading her novels has opened up a whole new perspective on these well-loved bible stories for me. I now understand these characters and their stories more deeply than I used to. What a blessing. I would recommend Terri Fivash's books to anyone as it appears she cannot disappoint. My only protest is that the release date for the second volume in the Dahveed saga has not been announced. I anxiously await!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read... Again!, February 20, 2009
This review is from: Dahveed: Yahweh's Chosen (Paperback)
Dahveed: Yahweh's Chosen, is an astounding story that really brings to life the biblical story of David. This first book on the life of the "Man after Gods own heart", shows just how David was Human, and yet allowed God to lead his life. This is another book that you will not want to put down! It's best not to start it until you know you will have time to read it through. It also has great re-readable value! I can hardly wait to read the rest of the series.

Reading the prequel (Ruth & Boaz) is not required, however if you like to know the back-story, it is also a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dahveed, Yahweh's Chosen, May 2, 2009
This is the third book on bible Characters written by Terry Fivash. All three, Joseph, Ruth and Boaz, and Dahveed are excellently researched, with a vivid imagination and a gripping narrative. I have read all three several times and they can still move me to tears. I have read hundreds of books and these are the best reads yet. I was hoping to find the next book in the Dahveed Series was available. Soon I hope.
