Otherwise, I feel like I took a lot of positives away from this book, particularly the call to action, massive action, which I hope to execute in my own life
I really love Mastin's point of view from reading The Daily Love. He comes across as authentic and vulnerable. Among spiritual teachers he is like the "guy next door", totally accessible and approachable. He seems like such a regular guy which is really empowering for the rest of us regular folks out out here who are travelling on this path.
As for the book, I felt it lacked substance and weightiness. It was "spirituality lite" and more about his journey than anything else. Maybe I was expecting too much. I was expecting to have many "aha" moments as I would from reading The Daily Love but it was not like that for me at all. There really wasn't much satisfaction after I was done reading the book. Like others mentioned... he probably has a really great book in him but maybe in a few years with more life experience. For someone who is solidly on the spiritual path and has read the usual books, this particular book IMO really does not add much in the way of development or understanding. Probably better for newbies.
Much love to Mastin. The book seems to be doing well just did not do it for me.
Now let me preface my review by saying I have had the pleasure of getting to know and work with Mastin several times over the last two years and the guy is the REAL DEAL!
I have been around the self growth and personal development block for well over two decades. I have studied with and among some of the best in the industry and I put Mastin Kipp right up there at the top with the best of em.
Because Mastin is a straight shooter. He holds nothing back. He gives you the truth, all of it, the good, the bad and the ugly. And he does so because he is so committed to helping others so that they don't have to learn the hard way as well.
Mastin's book is one of the most genuine, real and inspiring books in my library. His willingness to open up his heart and share his journey of how we went from a drug-addicted, couch surfing ex-music executive to being called "an up-and-coming though leader of the next generation of spiritual thinkers" by Oprah Winfrey is a testament to how limitless life can be when one follows their heart
If you're at the point of life where you're confused, stuck or lost this book is a MUST!
