5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read, easy to understand, easy to remember...
I made the commitment 5 years ago to read the Bible through it's entirety every year for the rest of my life. 1.0 out of 5 stars The Daily Walk
The book itself was in good condition. Just a small piece torn out of the last page. Doesn't hinder the written pages. Don't like the King James version because it's to hard to read. Should have ordered the NIV version.

I made the commitment 5 years ago to read the Bible through it's entirety every year for the rest of my life. I started with the Living Bible, and when the New Living translation came out in 1997 I purchased it in the Daily Walk version. I am almost finished now, for the 3rd time. The Lord said that He would bring His word back to our rememberance, but before I started reading this translation, I couldn't even get it in, so that He could bring it back to me. The wording of The King James version was much to complicated for me to read fluently. This Bible has been such a blessing to me, I take my yellow highlighter each day when I read, and mark the things that speak out to me. When I talk to others about the importance of being in The Word, and they don't have the NLV, I buy The Daily Walk NLT for them. Why? Because I know that they can read it and understand it, without having to stumble over the words. There is no better way to make God's Word a part of your own life, and no better way of encouraging someone else to make it a part of their life. I believe this Bible and a yellow highlighter should be beside every person's bed. What a wonderful way to be blessed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, easy-to-understand translation of the Bible, May 19, 1999
By A Customer
I purchased this particular bible based upon "Power for Living"'s praise for the New Living Translation, and the other reviewer who said I'd be glad I bought it in less than a month. They're both right. I'm sorry to say I had never sat down and read the Bible at any great length until now (at age 51). Now I've read most of the New Testament, and plan to finish the whole Book within a year. The "Daily Walk" introductions for the various pieces are very informative and well done. I think anyone who gets this version will be well-pleased.

This review is from: The Daily Walk Bible: New International Version (Paperback)
I own three copies of this wonderful Daily Walk. Daily commentaries are interesting and help you to understand each day's reading more thoroughly. My latest edition is the bonded leather because I carry this one everywhere and enjoy it DAILY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Straightforward, enlightening, thought provoking, easy!, December 15, 1998

If you have never succeeded in reading through the Bible, this is the Book for you. The notes are clear and brief. The time needed for each day's reading is short and the Word readily comes alive in this format. The New Living is an easy to understand translation, even when you're tired. You will be challenged to maturity and given tools to help get you there. This a fantastic format for easy daily reading (although I'd recommend beginning in the New Testement if you are new to the Bible). You'll be glad you made this purchase before the first month is over.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome Bible That Makes You Think, October 9, 2002
By A Customer
I just want to let everyone know that this is the best bible that I have ever owned in my 22 years of walking fully with Christ. I saw this bible on the coffee table of one of my friends one day. While I was away attending a football game this year, I decided to look for something to read and relax before the game. I decided to purchased this book since I did not have a New Living Translation bible and see just what it was about. Boy OH Boy, I am so glad that I bought this book. Even though it is designed to be read each day of the year, I wanted to read on and on. The word of God was exciting but the best part is how the overview, insight, and dail walk explaination for each day makes you feel that you are living in that time period, and that no matter what chapter you are reading it can be applied to your life today.

I really thank God for Mr. Bruce Wilkinson and his staff for hearing from God and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit in putting this bible together.

I really encourage everyone to get a copy as soon as possible. It really is the best. I am planning to give them out this year for Christmas presents and personal family gifts.

My mom told me about this Bible so I purchased it. I've been telling everyone that I know to get it. I've only had it for a week, but it has inspired me to want to read the Bible daily. This Bible is written so that everyone can read & understand it. I can see this being a very important tool to help me become a mature Christian. If you are looking for help in your daily devotional reading, don't wait any longer, get the Daily Walk Bible!!!!

This is my 4th year in going thru this Bible. It has been an excellent tool in helping me be consistent in my quiet times.
The notes (Overview, Your Daily Walk, Insights) are wonderful, filled with lots of great illustrations and insights into the Scriptures.
As a Pastor for 25 years it has been a refreshing well of living water. I've personally purchased and have given away over 40 copies to those I've counseled and discipled. I want everyone in our church to start reading it! You can start any time/date!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great way to the read the bible in a year, December 6, 2001
By A Customer
A friend recommended this Bible to me. I usually use a NIV Bible and wasn't sure about this translation, but it is wonderful. It is not like the Living Bible where everything is written in more modern terms. It is similar to the NIV only easier to understand.

The Bible is divided so that you read six days and have the seventh day to reflect and/or catch up. Each day's reading begins with a devotion, a synopsis of the reading, things to think about concerning the reading, and suggestions as to how to apply the lessons learned to your everyday life. It is not simply a devotional. It is the complete Bible with thought provoking commentary and simple explanations that anyone can understand. I highly recommend it to anyone...even those who do not desire to read the Bible in a year. It is a great Bible for everyday study and use at church.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Devotional, October 26, 2002

Although my favorite is the "Closer Walk New Testament", also by the Walk Thru The Bible ministry, this is an excellent addition. With this devotional, you can read through the Bible in a year, but it is made enjoyable. The "Overview", "Your Daily Walk" and "Insight" sections are excellent. What really adds value is the box diagrams of books, chapters and topics, that help understand larger concepts, giving the "big picture" viewpoint. If you want to read through the Bible in a year, this is the book to use. If you want to read at a slower pace, this will still be a very good guide and increase your Bible knowledge.
