This is a nice exercise trainer and motivator. Having this on your Kindle Fire means that with a simple touch you have an app that will show you the exercise, time you, has a video to show you the proper form and a has step by step instructions for each exercise. You can set the exercise time to 5, 8 or to 10 minutes and set one of three exercise routines. You can also use a Random exercise mode or a Custom exercise mode.

This app does not request all of the unreasonable permissions to take over your device. The video is smooth and the app works well. The only down side for me was that the sound was loud. The volume adjustment does not work on the Kindle Fire for this app so it's either the highest volume on a Kindle Fire or completely turn the volume off. It would be nice if they would fix this so you could adjust it or have it default to the volume setting on the Kindle Fire. The volume did work on my Samsung Tab 4.

Overall it is a good app and who doesn't have 5 to 10 minutes a day to work on their abs. Now you can start it while commercials are on TV and almost get the 5 minute routine done before your show comes back on.

Permissions:
* Full network access
* View network connections

This app does contain Flurry Analytics which monitors your in app behavior.

The app installed in 12.09MB into my device memory. I manually moved it to my SD card and it left 1.10MB in my device memory and moved 12.25MB to my SD card.

Minimal Permissions - Does run OFFLINE (I went into the App first time while OFFLINE - No Problems)
12.21mb Device Memory - Movable to Internal USB / External SD Storage (KitKat 4.4.2)
Flurry Analytics - not so happy with Flurry in an app that requests Biometric Identifiers (Gender, Age, Weight)

Video looks great although could be longer clips, yet these short clips are far better than the usual text-book illustrations and does keep the really small file size... well, small. No issues with volume control. Looks like the dev team has been updating/tweaking fixes fairly regularly.

All in all, I am just not happy with Flurry being present in any app featuring a caloric counter feature. These caloric counters require certain biometric values that regardless what anyone may assert, do count as Personal Data. Additionally, the Privacy Policy included in the app:

"Daily Workout may use and disclose to Daily Workout's partners and contractors the collected non-personal ((and they mean the biometric information too)) data for ... advertising serving..."

"Daily Workout reserves the right to use and disclose the collected non-personal data for purposes of advertisement by Daily Workout or Daily Workout's partners and contractors."

The Privacy Policy continues on, and they do assert they protect Personal Data, which laudable and would ameliorate the issue. The problem here, and the same problem I had with a Caloric Smart Bracelet that used a caloric tracking app (that app didn't have analytics, but it did have the ability to autonomously upload/download information), is that biometric values are not considered personal as it doesn't associate a name with the information. I disagree... strongly. Believe me, as someone who professionally performed Military Traffic Analysis as a career, I know whereof I speak.

However, this is the ONLY issue I have with the app, and if you do feel differently, which is perfectly fine, concerning Personal Data versus collecting "generalized" biometric information, then I do say this app may be worth a look. Additionally, this caloric counter feature is optional; you can simply use the workouts without entering datum or calculating calorie burn.

Final word, if I can be assured and have see it spelled out specifically that these three identifiers, Age, Weight, Gender, are considered Personal Data and thus protected by their Privacy Policy, then I will certainly revise with a far warmer rating/review.

I agree with the other reviewers. You feel great after you do every workout no matter the time interval. I can feel the targeted area getting stronger and it feels great. And like everyone else I started with the free one and upgraded to this one. I will most likely be getting the other exercise apps in this series. and for a dollar you cant go wrong.

Might be better if put together as a package and charge about 3 dollars. The whole paid series costs 5 dollars in total. That is a little too much for a full workout app, 3 dollars would be more appropriate. Nobody just does their arms or legs that I know of. Would be more saleable as an all comprehensive workout app. People would buy that more than bits and pieces of a workout if it was good enough. The videos are good and I like the small size of the app compared to what you are getting.

The free versions only, not this one, do require full access to the net, phone state and identity to get your phone number and serial number, and access anything they want off your SD card files with the ability to read and write to the SD. The paid versions of all the apps do not have the permissions. Somehow I feel a little bothered by that. Ads in the free versions with net access to show ads is not that bad. Just bothers me on what they doing with the info on customers phone IDs and numbers and things off of the SD card that wanted to try out their apps before paying. Just makes you wonder about the integrity of the dev here asking for more than ads and net access for a free app. At least the paid versions do not have this, so you have options to fork out the cash for each app in the series if you wanna dance with the data miner wolves but also keep them at bay so they dont bite you.

Pretty straight forward application. No special permissions. Downloads and seems to work fine on HTC Incredible running 2.3.4. If your into fitness or want to be, check it out. If not, oh well.

I got this app. when it was free. I've used this for the past two days now and boy do my abs hurt. You can select how long you want the work out and which level and there is randomize level. There is a video that plays as well as a description of the move. I recommend this app. if you want to start working your abs but don't know how to start. I would buy this app. if I didn't have it already.

Low rating because you cannot watch videos without it being during a workout. There should be a way to watch the video and learn the exercise without having to start and do the workout. There also is not enough time between each exercise to get into the position for the next 1, which is exacerbated by the fact that the pause button is hard to hit if you're in the middle of doing the exercise. Or getting ready. You should be able to control the time between exercises and you should be able to watch the video and learn the exercise without it being during the workout.

i already know how to do alot of the various ab excercises that are shown in this app that i learned when i used to have a subscription to men's health. but none the less i feel this would come in handy as a reference when i rejoin a gym the only thing i dont like this doesnt show more advance ab workouts that i seen on youtube that incorporate weights last no strange permissions for anyone to have to worry about. i have tryed this without a data connection and so far it seems to run just fine which im happy with cause like other workout apps they require a data connection to be able to stream a video.but i will test again just to see if all the videos on this workout app stream all the way through to the end of the video's
