Try this app right now on your computer. You control the app with your mouse and keyboard to experience it like you would on your phone. Test drive this app before you buy.
How does this work?
Clicking the “Test drive now” button launches a copy of this app on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), a web service that provides on-demand compute capacity in the cloud for developers. When you interact with the simulated phone using your mouse and keyboard, we send those inputs over the Internet to the app running on Amazon EC2 — just like your mobile device would send a finger tap to the app. Our servers then send the video and audio output from the app back to your computer. All this happens in real time, allowing you to explore the features of the app as if it were running on your mobile device.

I am not a fan of Daniel Miller as a developer. Ever since I tried his terrible Daily Arm Workout, I have been on the lookout for more shovelware on the FAOTD. Lo and behold, we have another quick buck workout app.

This program not only features bad (and actually dangerous) exercises, it also peppers you with more apps and Daily News (image attached) that tell you new products from the developer have been released.

Honestly, how the Step Ups and Glute Lift even made it into this program is a mystery. I have seen this done quite a few times with disastrous results... Showing countless people that it is ok to use a metal folding chair for this kind of exercise is just ridiculous. I can pick apart a few more (mostly on form), but I choose not to upset the model, that actually looked like she was trying this time.

The best part about this app is that almost every time you complete a program, you are presented with "Daily Workout News!", which informs you that a new Daily Workout App has been released. Your options are to close this reminder, or buy the software.
It doesn't end there though, the whole suite of Daily Workout Apps are advertised and can be purchased from the menu ribbon on the main screen. These advertisements are always there, in a paid app nonetheless.

I also still don't understand why this thing requires full internet access. Is it for sharing that you did some poor exercising on Twitter and Facebook and advertise the app? Gee, thanks for being so caring.

This app is also swimming in false five star reviews. Apparently letting the people decide what to rate this thing is a no no...

To sum things up: all of these exercises can be found freely elsewhere, done in more detail AND proper from.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says to do May 4, 2012

I'm not one for any kind of workout (I'm a computer geek more than anything else), but when I have a few minutes I try to do something to get the metabolism going. This does it. The first time I tried it, I was winded by the fourth or fifth exercise on the five-minute setting and had to pause to recover. I'll know things are going better when I can get through a whole 5 minutes workout without having to pause.

My only gripe is that the options are for 5, 7.5, and 10-minute intervals regarding the exercise duration. This is too restrictive. User should be allowed to set whatever time they want (although I think that 5 minutes should be the minimum). Considering that this is nothing more than 20 video clips set in a timed loop, there is nothing difficult about allowing the user to set their own duration and then calculate the length of time to loop each video clip.

Anyway ... no, this isn't a professional, polished app. One video clip - the jumping jacks, I believe - is very clearly played forward then reversed. But it gets the job done. And if you're not in shape, it WILL get you winded.

EDIT:

I am really tired of the Negative Nancys who condemn every positive review to an app they don't like as automatically fake, entered by the developer under a fake account. Such people are making app reviews, particularly for the Free App of the Day, a joke. I gave this app a high rating not because is a gorgeous, polished piece of work -- it very clearly is NOT. I have it a high rating because it does exactly what it says it will do. This app will get you very winded if you're not in shape and I was able to see myself progressing as I used this more and more. As far as I'm concerned, it does what it's supposed to do. That's why I gave it the rating I did.

1.0 out of 5 stars another one of these again September 4, 2012
Once again we get this as our FAOTD. Can get better work outs free on yotube. just sayin', and needs full internet access. Really? lame.

2.0 out of 5 stars This Disgusts Me September 4, 2012

This the paid version. The free version offered has the same exercises and settings. If they are nearly indentical, why have paid and free?

That out of the way, the app itself isn't so great. It features some of the very most basic moves. Though, at least they fixed the bug where it would blare at you even with the volume on the lowest settings.

Don't waste your money on this. The free version is the same as the paid, if you must.

the exercises.are uninspired and the editing is awful..you can totally see the loop. I agree with other reviewers--you can find better workouts on you tube.

Here is what this paid app claims to feature, and my opinions on it:

* Two workouts - That have repetitive exercises. Throwing in some variety would have been good. It's not like it's difficult to record a video. It's more like one full workout with minor variations.

* Random & custom workouts - From a list of poorly prerecorded videos. Honestly you can go on YouTube and find better and higher quality stuff that also explain things in more detail.

* Landscape mode & ad-free - Landscape mode is there. I won't deny it. The part where it says ad-free is a blatant lie. All the Daily Workout apps are advertised at the bottom of the menu screen, and through a pop up after you finish exercising.

4 claims and 3 lies. Not a good track record here.
