About the Author

I live in South Florida but am originally from New York and still have a special place in my heart for the Big Apple. Cruising is a passion of mine that allows me to escape from everyday reality and a stressful profession of court reporting. Whether we are cruising out of Port Everglades or Port of Miami, it is always a vacation to remember. My first cruise was in 1979, through two hurricanes (now there's a story); yet, I've only become more enamored and enchanted with cruising over the years. I have an amazing, supportive husband and a wonderful son who always keeps me on the edge of my seat with his studies in medical school. My two loving poodles continually teach me about what's important in life ... unconditional love, family, and enough treats to get me through the day. Reading, writing, and cruising are my passions. Please visit me at my blog address of lynnbyer.wordpress.com and my website at lynnbyer.com. I love to hear from readers! I am the author of Trouble in Paradise and Christmas in Paradise, cruise romances, and Daisies Never Lie, a romance on dry land.

More About the Author

I live in South Florida but am originally from New York and still have a special place in my heart for the Big Apple. Cruising is a passion of mine that allows me to escape from my stressful profession of court reporting. I fell in love with cruising on my very first cruise, which ended up being a "dual hurricane cruise."

My husband and son are amazing and supportive, and my poodles continually teach me what it takes to get through life's ups and downs ... unconditional love, family, and enough treats to get through the day.

I love writing romance and comedy and believe a blend of the two is the best of both worlds.

When one of the preschoolers at her Taylor's Tots school gets chickenpox, Emily has to contact the father. Robert is a single father with a painful past... and an undeniable chemistry with Emily. Emily is also pursued by her ex-husband, and enjoys exchanging messages with an online friend, AveryH.

I thoroughly enjoyed this contemporary romance. The interactions between the father and daughter are SO sweet, and the growing relationship between the two leads was perfection. I can't recommend this enough, and I look forward to reading all of Lynn Byer's future novels!

I had a lot of fun reading this book. Sometimes you're in the mood for something light and easy, and this fits that type of mood. Robert and Emily have great chemistry and lots of romantic tension where they fight their attraction for one another. For Robert, the struggle is trying to love another woman after the death of his wife. For Emily, it's a desire to keep her relationship with him professional since she is the daycare provider who watches his daughter.

I also enjoyed watching Robert's devotion and love for his daughter. It's refreshing to see a man who is interested in the well-being and happiness of his child.

However, my favorite part was the debate Emily had with Avery over the Internet over whether romance books are "real" books or not. As a romance reader, I hear the same arguments that Avery posed time and time again, and I was cheering Emily on the whole time! It was fun to watch her win the argument.

This was a very sweet story. I loved how attentive Robert was with his daughter. I really thought that the characters developed really well through out the story. I only wish that there was an epilogue that summed up their relationship. Like maybe 6 months to a year later what happened?? Did they end up getting married & have their own child together? I think this would have tied it all together more. I would have gven it a 5 star if it had this little tid bit, but over all it was an excellent read & I would recommend this book to any romance enthusiast.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It is a romance for adults. I found it totally believable. The love story moves along at a comfortable pace for me, and the sex scenes are well written.

What I liked: the characters and their character development. Emily owns a child care facility and was divorced nearly a year before the story opens. Her ex, Steve, would like to have her back, but their problems are still the same. Robert was widowed at about the same time, and is now recovering from his loss with his toddler daughter.

Robert's daughter comes down with chicken pox in the middle of a demanding work week for him. And the story is off ...

There are the usual misconceptions ... and the usual happy ending ... but how it gets there is half the fun.

Warning: quite a bit about chicken pox ... and a hospitalization at the end. But it never crossed the line where I wished it wasn't part of the story.

And yes, a daisy figures into the (nearly) end.

I hope Byer writes another book soon. I enjoyed both her books, more than the usual romance books.
