The Daisy Cleaning Kit contains all the essentials in order to maintain your pneumatic airgun (pump-style): cleaning patches, lube, and cleaning rod. In addition to cleaning, the rod may be used for removing pellets that become lodged in the barrel. However, you should be aware that the tip of the cleaning rod may be quite rough and could damage your gun barrel. A light rubbing with fine sand paper should reduce the roughness of the rod tip. Also, if you are cleaning a breakbarrel airgun, you should insert the cleaning rod into the breech--inserting the rod into the front of the airgun may damage the crown. In addition, here's an important warning: Do not use the oil provided in the Daisy Cleaning Kit to lubricate a breakbarrel airgun--it will cause a detonation and may damage the airgun. Special silicone-type lubribrication must be purchased for a breakbarrel. The oil provided in the cleaning kit may be used to lubricate pneumatic and CO2 airguns. In short, I am very satisfied with my Daisy Cleaning Kit.

This seemed to be the best deal of all the available pellet rifle cleaning kits, but it has some pros and cons.

Pros:

1. Its an aluminum rod which is much more desirable than the other brands steel rods since pellet rifles use a softer steel barrel than conventional firearms. Honestly, I wouldn't put a steel rod down ANY barrel, but that's just me. :)

Cons:

1. Wrong oil for break barrel pellet rifles. (you need a silicone based oil) So, @ $20 you still need to buy oil
2. Not enough patches. There's enough to get you started, but again....@ $20 more should've been included
3. As others have mentioned, its probably a good idea to de-burr the patch holder tip. @ $20 why is it not already done?

Basically, the rod is what you're paying for in this kit. It seems to be a good rod, although it is aluminum (as it should be) so care needs to be taken in using it so you don't bend/damage it. I just can't give this kit 5 stars when I have to de-burr, get more patches, and still buy a $7-$10 bottle of oil. You can buy a cheap full firearms cleaning kit for the same price or just a few dollars more that has enough rods, brushes, and mops to clean shotguns, rifles, AND pistols. Unfortunately, the rifle rod is too big to fit a .177, so Crosman gets to gouge you $20 for a kit that is probably more fairly priced @ $10.

Great cleaning kit for the .177 rifle or pistol. Solid built aluminum rods that screw together for the length needed. This is a great item not easily found at the local vendors.

I was looking for a kit to clean my air guns and this fit he bill for the least price. I like the aluminum shaft that won't scratch the rifle boring.

It's exactly as described. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to keep their pellet gun clean and accurate.

Item as advertised, shipped and received in a timely manner, but.......the cap was not on the oil tight enough and leaked out....no big deal, but for the price maybe the caps should be checked.....rod was nice though....

Nice 3 piece aluminum cleaning rod. Small diameter fits typical .177 airgun barrel, with precut patches. I substitute Hoppes or CRP, for initial cleaning, and finish with the Daisy oil, or Rem Oil.
