Talent in a Famine.....,
By A Customer
This review is from: Daisy (Audio CD)
In a period of music where sex sells more than actual talent, and bands such as Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys rule the airwaves, I look back a good two years to albums like this one for hope. Dogs Eye View, especially in this CD, are a testament to the lack of appreciation of real music, judging by what is now on the market. This is one of the best from the mid-ninties, a time I'll always think of as rich with talent and astetically pleasing sounds - as evidenced by such bands as: Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band, Refreshments, and Gin Blossoms. Hope the next DEV is as good as this one. Get it: You won't be dissapointed.

FUTURE STARS.......,
By A Customer

Daisy, the new CD from Dog's Eye View, is by all means worth the money. Not only is the music good, but the lyrics are some of the best i've ever heard. Daisy is the type of CD you pop in after a long day; D.E.V has produced a very "chill" record...

To me, Dog's Eye View sound a bit like a cross between Counting Crows and Toad the Wet Sprocket (funny that those all have "animal names"). Not as original (or as good, I must admit) as those bands, but still great melodic rock. Not much to say really, except that this is a very enjoyable album for what it is. I really wish there were still artists making stuff like this.
Oh, and you gotta love the line about "killing that little turd Cupid" in "The Trouble with Love". The first time I heard that I had to rewind and make sure that was really what he said. Anyway... Check this out if you love good melodic rock. You'll probably dig it, I'm sure.

This disc is great from start to finish. Easy to enjoy right out of the jewel case. Better than the first Dog's Eye View disc. Wish these guys still made music like this.

Happy Nowhere was one of my favorite albums of the 1990's, but after listening to this refined, yet more musically intelligent version of the band, I'm pretty sure I like this one more. It makes me sick when an album as amazing as this one fails. Buy this CD. You will not regret it.

I loved this CD. Too back DEV is not around anymore. For all those who are following Peter Stuart...He's hoping to have a solo album out in January sometime. He has a CD he is selling on his web site with some new songs. In the meantime, we can enjoy the old favorites like this and Happy Nowhere. One of the best bands in the past 10 years!!!

Great CD, worth 15 bucks,

I bought this CD about a year after I heard "Last Letter Home". It took me that long to buy it because it took me that long to find out what the name of the song was. All of the songs are in the same vein as that one, and they're all pretty good. I've never heard any other songs by them on the radio, which is sad, because they're a great band. Heck, I rarely hear "Last Letter" these days. I found out that "Umbrella" was on the "Can't Hardly Wait" soundtrack, but that's it. I hope to hear more from these guys in the future. If "Happy Nowhere" is like this album, I'm gettin' it!

Brilliant album by this little known (In the UK) band. Decided to purchase the CD after hearing them mentioned on Counting Crows Live in New York CD. Now I want more :-) I loved the Multimedia on the CD as well, really lets you get to know the band. Hope to hear more soon - Get over to England guys and make it big... Fantastic. Roger Holgate.
