While there are some good points in many of the other reviews and I wish I would have bought that game over the internet so I could have gotten it at half the price I paid I still feel like it was a good value. I don't have experience with pilates and while at time I got very frustrated with the scoring on the game because it said I wasnt doing the exercise at the right...

I LOVE pilates and was very excited for this game to come out. I thought Daisy Fuentes would put out a good pilates workout as she has been a spokeperson with other popular pilates DVD's over the years. I was wrong. The game is so simple, calling it a basic or beginner workout doesn't even do it justice. There are literally only 10 exercises available and as far as I could tell you could only do a max of 10 reps of each. The "bonus" features on the game were nothing more than spoken words about diet and exercise, and were so basic I can't imagine anyone on the planet wouldn't already know them. Like "you have to eat less and exercise more" to lose weight. Overall i am VERY dissappointed with my purchase and will be trying to trade this game in or sell it ASAP.

1.0 out of 5 stars AWARD WINNING!!! WORST WORKOUT GAME EVER AWARD !!!!, August 6, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Daisy Fuentes Pilates (Video Game)
Ok, this is really bad.... I was expecting much much more from Daisy Fuentes. She should be ashamed to be associated with this workout 'game'. There are only 10 exercises, and all are very basic. If your new at pilates, there is absolutely no explanations by Mrs. Fuentes. You must watch along as you do the exercises. No "Watch me, then you try" kind of thing. It just assumes you know what the exercise is and does it. If you've done pilates once ever before in your life, then this workout game is too basic for you. Also, The game doesn't acknowledge the remotes motions very well either. I could write another 100 words about how bad this game is, but I wont. I just want to stress that you should NOT BUY THIS!!! You will have buyers remorse... Do not even rent this!!! You will have renters remorse!!! SERIOUSLY, a BAD BAD workout game.

1.0 out of 5 stars I use sarcasm when frustrated. :-) This frustrated me., August 11, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Daisy Fuentes Pilates (Video Game)
Update: Want to see the entire game before buying? On the product page it shows every single move on this wii game via video links under the picture of the game. Click play. No need to buy the game. That's all you'll see on the game anyway! Just view the moves there...Just those ten moves!

Well this is quite the diappointment. There is no question that, as the years and games continue, the Wii is progressing in all it's bringing to both gamers and fitness fans. Sadly, Daisy Fuentes Pilates has actually taken a step backwards in game AND fitness progression and misses the mark by a mile in pilates instrustion and fun for both the beginners and those advanced.

For those unfamiliar, Pilates is a form of strength training, not meant to provide high caloric burn like a cardio routine, but instead to work and strengthen and lengthen your muscles which has additional benefits that a cardio routine does not...so I had hoped for a great addition to my other Wii fitness "games" as well as my regular daily fitness routine.

Daisy Fuentes Pilates (not sure why it's even called that since there is no resemblence, whatsoever, in the avatar to Daisy Fuentes...but that's not why I bought it so we'll not pass judgement there...) features only 10 excersises (yes, only 10. Perhaps Daisy herself wrote the reviews saying there are more? I kid.) These are the excercises: Bicycle, Toe Taps, Double Leg Circle, Side Leg Work, Pelvic Bridge, Hundred, Neck Pull, Mermaid, Saw, and Roll Up.

yes. On the ENTIRE DVD those are the ONLY moves. I kid you not. You do 5 reps of each to workout. Every. Single. Time. But, fear not! They change the order sometimes. yawn.

Granted, as you progress a few of them can become "harder" but they are still the same moves and odds are you aren't going to want to spend too much time with a dvd that only does 10 moves because you'll likely be bored with it after a good 3 days of doing the same things over and over and, consequently, getting little results in comparison to all the moves you COULD be doing and all the muscles you COULD be toning spending the same amount of time with a Pilates workout dvd on your tv that has a real instructor showing you how to do the moves rather than a cartoon avatar and a game that becomes frustrating...but more on that later.

Those with Attention Deficit Disorder, to not enter here. Even if you have a strong attention span you'll grow so tired of the repetition of just 10 excercises and no Wii "fun" spliced in that you'll start doing algebra equations in your head just for "fun".

Now then, what about the warm up? Surely that has gotta pack a mean punch in order to make up for the number of moves you can count on two hands contained in the rest of the game/routine? Ah, my friend. Think again.
You get two choices of how to warm up. Run in place for five minutes straight (oh! how I wish I was kidding!) or do a sitting stretch series for five minutes straight.
Wow, who was in charge of thinking through such game genius?

Sure you can "customize" five of your own sets. Using the same moves...but if you are new to Pilates you'd be better off sticking to how they have the 10 moves varied because, odds are, you'll be working out more muscles.

You can also go into Daisy's office to change clothes. Interesting because the attire you can choose from pretty much lends one to think Daisy is on her way to make some one dollar bill tips somewhere...if ya know what I mean. Who chose the poor girl's outfits you can change her into? Good Lawd, girl! I believe this could be the marketing department's way to create a larger buyer demographic so husbands enjoy the game as well as their wives. But I'm just guessin'.

Alrighty then, so lets say all you are LOOKING FOR is a Wii game with 10 moves on it and you believe you have found your Nirvana...Ah, my friend. Don't click that "buy now" button just yet. If your dvd player is broken and you just HAVE to have a Wii Pilates game with 10 moves, know that the Wii remote and balance board that are supposed to track your form will frustrate the pilates out of ya. You have to point the wii remote a certain way or tap a certain way that I can't figure out(because it never works right even though I know, very well, how to do pilates) on the balance board so you don't get a red dot and you are left hardly concentrating on your form and breathing in order to keep your tracking progress smooth. But it's also difficult to concentrate on form when it's rarely discussed during play.

It simply did NOT track my movements properly...so much so that i became convinced my balance board was broken and borrowed a neighbor's. Seriously. Nopers! It's the game!

Did they test market this baby?
And, if so, did those who test it speak the same language as those asking them for feedback or did they simply utilize hand signals and misread the player's anger and frustrated hand movements for clapping and enthusiasm? Just sayin'.

Form is VERY important in Pilates in order to get any gain and, although this "game" is marketed for beginners, it doesn't serve them properly in creating the form needed to produce results...or the interest needed to even wish to proceed with it as a routine, in my opinion.

Nor is it fun. And typically that is the beauty of a wii fitness game above a workout dvd...it usually splices in some element of FUN or learning while doing.

Back to my pilates dvds...waiting patiently for the next Wii fitness game, while I gently repackage this one and save it for some enemy in my future who frustrates me enough that I wish to punish them with double the frustration return.

I kid.

But it would be far too cruel to give it to Goodwill in the event that someone would pay hard earned-money for it and be a kind soul. I just couldn't live with myself.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, August 5, 2009
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Daisy Fuentes Pilates (Video Game)
I was so disappointed with this game. There are only 10 exercises in it. As a pilates teachers myself, I know there are many more exercises. This game didn't even attempt to give a complete mat workout. I want to return it to the store.

1.0 out of 5 stars A DVD is a better workout!, August 6, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Daisy Fuentes Pilates (Video Game)
I love Pilates and really hoped this game could supplement the mat classes I go to at the gym. However it is horrible and think a DVD would be a better workout. There are very limited routines and more importantly the timing bar is completely off. Even if I am not making the movements the bar is moving, and it tells me I am off when I am mirroring the computer generated Daisy exactly. I would not recommend this game to anyone.

1.0 out of 5 stars What A Rip Off!!!!, September 8, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Daisy Fuentes Pilates (Video Game)
I would give this a no star but you have to put at least one for the rating. It doesn't deserve one star.
I never have written a review but this one I'm taking out time so hopefully others won't buy this. This is such a ripoff. I paid 30 dollars for this and I will say this is the biggest disappointment I've had with Wii Software. No...actually this is the ONLY dissapointment I've had with Wii software. I thought my balance board was broken as it didn't calculate my moves at all. I could do exactly as she was doing and she would say "you need to go faster" I would then go faster then her and she would respond with "you need to follow along with my movements." I would do exactly as she did and she would say "watch out, your in the red zone. I am a long time yoga instructor, runner, Pilates at the gym, ballet, skier, so this is nothing new to me. I know Pilates and know how to do it properly. The highest score I've received from her is 20%. I exchanged my software at Best Buy where it was purchased and the new copy was the same. It also has only 10 moves on it. How can one justify spending $30.00 for this.? As far as where you want to exercise (the fitness room or scenery one must choose for the exercise. Who CARES??

I want to shout it from the highest mountain..DON'T BUY THIS!!!!

I think Sega should refund our money on this..we were definitly ripped off

I enjoy exercising, gut this program is totally frustrating. It doesn't pick up the movements, and harangs you when the sensor doesn't pick up. I got so frustrated that I stopped half way through and put it back in the box.

1.0 out of 5 stars poorly designed, September 12, 2009

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This game was a bummer. The menus/interface were unintuitive. When I actually got to an exercise, I found myself doing 3 reps of 4-minute stretches (yes, that's for a total of 12 minutes of the same rolling-around stretch), b/c the exercise set included 3 reps of *everything* lined up in it. It was kinda dumb. Pilates is supposed to be about quality movements, not speedy movements, and yet, the game penalized me for not moving quickly enough for it. It was kind of bizarre, really. Overall, I was really disappointed, and regret making the purchase.

I don't have experience with pilates and while at time I got very frustrated with the scoring on the game because it said I wasnt doing the exercise at the right pace even though I was, I felt like I got a good lower body workout. Yes there are only ten exercises, and if you have a lot of experience with pilates it may be too simplistic for you. However if you are a beginner looking to work your abs this is a good game that will help you accomplish your goals for much less than you have probably spent on another game or dvd that did squat. I would enjoy if they did a sequel with more exercises.
