5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great little story every little flower girl and prospective bride is just going to love!
Daisy Jane loved it when her "best babysitter" Allie came over. She was lots of fun to play with. They played all kinds of games like Superheroes, Princesses, and, best of all, Brides. Sometimes she was the bride and other times she played the flower girl. Her black cat, Mr. Moon, was always the groom. She got all dressed up from head to toe and even had a basket of...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best for younger children.
We read this book tonight for the first time. I was rather annoyed by the circumstances - first there is a big storm (something my daughter is afraid of), then the lights go out. Now my daughter is worried that will happen when she is a flower girl. I should have read this before I bought it. Other than that, it's cute. Although I think the phrase "slow as ketchup" is...

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great little story every little flower girl and prospective bride is just going to love!, June 25, 2009
This review is from: Daisy Jane, Best-Ever Flower Girl (Step into Reading) (Paperback)
She got all dressed up from head to toe and even had a basket of paper flowers. On the top of her head she had "an old curtain for her veil" and on her feet she had on "Allie's pink shoes." It was lots of fun, but there was no real wedding, but one day she got a surprise. Allie was really going to get married and Daisy Jane was going to be the flower girl!

It was so exciting. "Weddings were even better than kittens!" Of course Allie would have to find someone other than a cat like Mr. Moon to marry, but she assured Daisy Jane that she had one and would love him, "even when he has chicken pox." There were lots of things to do before the wedding and Allie talked about many of the things she would have at her wedding, including finger sandwiches and fireworks. Just before the wedding Daisy Jane would have to shop for her dress. The big day was soon coming, but there was an unusual occurrence at the wedding and everything went crazy. Would Daisy be able to save the day?

This is a great little story every little flower girl and prospective bride is just going to love! The imaginative and delightful Daisy Jane is an easy character to fall in love with. This is a level three, "Step Into Reading" book that is geared toward the more confident reader. It is divided into short chapters with and "easy to follow" plot. If you're looking for beginning chick lit, this is just perfect!

Now my daughter is worried that will happen when she is a flower girl. I should have read this before I bought it. Other than that, it's cute. 4.0 out of 5 stars Short, Sweet, & Secular Flower Girl Book, January 23, 2009
This review is from: Daisy Jane, Best-Ever Flower Girl (Step into Reading) (Paperback)
This book was a gift for a five year-old girl who loves hearing all about my recent wedding (I'm her teacher/baby-sitter). This book is short, sweet, and secular-- the latter aspect being quite refreshing as many comparable books I considered take place in a church. It would have been nice to see some diversity in the characters, as they were all Caucasian.
