This review is from: Daisy Is a Mommy (Hardcover)
Lisa Kopper is one of the finest illustrators of children's books. Daisy is an endearing character. Preschoolers will love the simple text, bright illustrations and humorous story. Ms. Kopper has created a winner with her Daisy books. I highly recommend "Daisy Is a Mommy" and any of Lisa Kopper's recent Daisy books.

However, the book is fine for those without! It shows the similarities between human and canine mothers, as well as a few amusing differences. Realistic full-page illustrations are captivatingly appealing. It holds the attention span of the pre-schooler and brings a smile to the reader, too.

The story is wonderful, and the illustrations are beautiful! I have all of the "Daisy" books now, and I highly reccommend any (or all) of them to anyone who loves children and dogs, or just beautiful artwork.

I absolutely LOVE the Daisy books. Daisy, the anvil-headed English bull terrier brings smiles to the faces of all with her clever antics. She, like her human counterpart takes pride and pleasure in her offspring and she is clearly a ringleader in humorous mischief. Daisy and Shiloh, (the literary beagle Phyllis Reynolds Naylor immortalized in literature) are the most appealling fictional dogs. I love the way Daisy aligns herself with the baby's mother, which makes for a funny parallel to an earlier book where Daisy imitates the baby. Daisy appears as a delightful, fun-loving spontaneous little English bull terrier who will find herself permanently wedged in the hearts of all who encounter her. WE LOVE DAISY! |
