Great Gun For Use, Or Display. NOT An Original However,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Like just about everyone else here I bought this gun after seeing "A Christmas Story" and decided I had to have one like "Ralphie" for my collection. Although I do shoot it on occasion, and its a typical spring loaded BB gun in that respect, its more of a display gun in my opinion. If you want one of these of this design and power just for "plinking" and what not, you can buy one cheaper that doesn't have all the "Red Ryder" insignias and extras included. This is a fine replica of the original gun that was available in the 50s. However, do note that this gun is not in any way an original, and definitely not as good a copy of that which you see Ralphie get in the movie. I read where his was a custom made one that bears little resemblance to this one available. (Ralphie's has a much heavier stock, is fed from the end of the barrel, and has a gold colored band securing the barrel and feeder. This gun has none of those And one just like it is not available anywhere that I have found). I still however recommend this gun as a nostalgic addition for the collector, or just for Christmas Story fans everywhere.
