5.0 out of 5 stars Daisy Rock Debutante
I purchased a Daisy Rock Debutante for my 9 year old daughter's birthday. She really wanted this pink guitar over all others, because Hannah Montana plays a Daisy Rock. The finish is very nice and the 3/4 size is perfect for her size. We had a problem in getting the low E string peg to stay seated when attempting to tune it. I tried all of the usual methods of putting...

I tried all of the usual methods of putting tape around the peg and tapping it with a punch. No luck. So, I called up Daisy Rock directly on the telephone and explained the problem to them. Here is what happened. Because Amazon only had one in stock at the time I placed my order, Daisy Rock stepped up to the plate and shipped me out a replacement guitar the same day. This was for my daughters birthday and they understood the significance of that. The replacement tuned up nicely and plays great. I highly recommend this Daisy Rock Debutante as a great starter guitar for girls. And, Daisy Rock has earned my respect for their excellent customer service and product support.

We tried to tune it (her father and I) my husband also plays acoustic guitar - so he knows how to tune it. Now my hopes is to send it back and get another one (and hopes that Amazon DOES NOT charge me for shipping!!) Maybe we will luck out and it just happen to be this one messed up!! I checked several reviews on this guitar and the tuning issue was of some concern but there were so many more good reviews I thought it would be fine - guess not on this one!!!!

It serves it's purpose. My 7 year old is happy and likes it, but it has to be tuned every time you pick it up. It's just the right size for her though and she's having fun learning to play cords. And of course it's pink! It would have been nice if it came with at least a soft case.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not happy, July 18, 2009

Bought this for my six year old daughter. No instructions at all. Came with strap but nowhere to attach it on center top. Tuner arrived broken again with no insturctions. Not worth the price even on sale.

The item arrived well before Christmas thank goodness. My 7 year old loves playing this guitar and it is very pretty. The best value guitar out of all of the beginner acoustics in my opinion.

Well, have never been able to tune it. Kept it because my wife said my daughter won't know the difference and will love it forher birthday. 5 months later and it just sits there on a stand. Maybe she's still too young (5) we'll see. I'm going to try some new strings.

it came so fast I had a hard time keeping it hid long enough from the person who was going to get it as a present. May we all keep having this kind of troubles. GREAT DEAL too. Thanks.

I bought this set for my daughter's 6th birthday after she begged for a pink guitar for more than a year. Overall, we were both very happy with it. I wasn't sure if she was serious about wanting to learn to play, so I didn't want to spend a fortune on a "real" guitar, but when I found this for $49, I was happy to buy the real thing instead of a toy! Also, after reading other reviews that mentioned how fast this company ships, I opted for standard shipping, even though I was in a bit of a time crunch. I'm glad I did because the package came in RECORD time (no pun intended!), and I didn't have to waste money for rush shipping.

The only disappointment with this guitar was the color. The image on my computer screen definitely looked bubble gum pink to me, and when it arrived, I was happy to see that the color in the picture on the outside of the box was exactly the same bubble gum pink as on my computer (sort of the color of Pepto!). But when I opened the box, I was annoyed to find that the guitar was actually sort of a hot coral color -- much brighter and much more orange-y than in the picture. It's still in the pink family, but not at all the girly candy pink I expected. My DD adores pink, and while she didn't mention the color at first, a few minutes later while playing with it, she cocked her head to the side and said, "You know, Mommy, it's not exactly pink." She was right, but I decided to let it go. It's still a great bargain and perfect for a wannabe Hannah Montana!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the money, February 4, 2011

My daughter is eight and decided to buy this on her own. It tuned up nicely with no problems. The tuners aren't great, but they're not bad either.

The guitar sounds tinny and very bright, but that's to be expected with the smaller size. It's rather loud, too. The action is very good, and there is no fret buzz on any of the strings in any position. Very impressive.

The electronic tuner it comes with is awkward to use. Instead of a needle, it only provides three lights, so it's difficult to know just how close you are when tuning a string.

Delivery was very fast, arriving in only three days.

Though the description does not mention a gig bag, the photos show one. Ours did not come with a bag, so we'll have to buy one separately.

We considered the Luna guitars, but thought the tuner and strap were good extras. They're not good quality, which is disappointing, but the guitar is. I can see my daughter getting quite a few years of use from it. Overall, we are pleased.

4.0 out of 5 stars First Impressions, December 7, 2010

Package just arrived this afternoon--very large cardboard Nike box (I thought it contained soccer goals my son had ordered!)with the considerably smaller guitar box sliding around inside--there was just a very small amount of crushed brown bag-type packing--definitely very minimal protection. Although the guitar box itself is a plain brown "guitar-shaped" cardboard box, there are absolutely NO words or pictures on it, which makes me wonder if it was someone else's "returned item!?" Like one of the other reviewers, I also expected at least some kind of instruction leaflet or booklet on how the "tuner" operates, basic beginner instructions on proper hand/finger positioning, etc. This is to be a Christmas gift for our granddaughter, so I won't know about possible tuning problems, etc. until Christmas Day. On the "plus side"--it appears to be a very high quality construction with no visible scratches, chips, etc. The color is perfect--definitely "bubble gum pink!" Hopefully, we won't be disappointed in it's tuning process and sound!
