Good, solid poles that work great with all the tools you could possibly need and then some (including little handy things I wasn't expecting such as a little pincher to cut the string, just one of many). We bought two of these and have used them for two solid days of fishing so far, snagged them on lots of plants and trees (hey, it's been years since I've cast!!), yet they held up and worked wonderfully for us nonetheless. I would recommend just using earthworms for bait since I didn't have a whole lot of luck with the artificial lures (we also had earthworms that worked great). But if you want to do some casual fishing with the kids or by yourself, this is an excellent set FOR AN AWESOME price, and you don't need to research exactly what you need to make sure you aren't missing anything, this kit has it all. I also liked the fact that it showed how to tie some of the basic knots in the line, etc... it was a good refresher since it had been years for me, just made things simpler where I could have easily made a mistake. HIGHLY recommend!!

This was a great deal for the price. Comes with complete rod and reel and a small tackle box with some lures and other supplies. Worked well for a casual fisherman and occasional use.

My grandson now has his own fishing pole so when he fishes with his dad he has his own equipment. He loves it.

I had the spincast combo kit shipped to Louisiana because I was going to spend 10 days with my mother. My mother loves to fish and she had told me we would be doing some fishing. My brother told me the line on the reel was rotten. I thought I had gotten my line hung on something when I had a bite and the line broke. The rod was o.k. and the reel performed well, but the line must have been very old and dried-out.

I actually bought this fishing pole to use as a cat toy - my three cats go completely bananas when I wrap up a lead sinker in crinkly cellophane, tie the whole thing to fishing line and then "cast" for them down our long hallway. I've spent big bucks on toys that haven't been nearly as effective in entertaining my pets.

Anyway, I bought this to replace the Rapala Spincast Kids' Rod and Reel Set with Tackle, which fell apart after about six months and wouldn't even work for the limited amount of activity for which I'm using it.

This is a pretty decent, sturdy rod and reel and would work fine for the task for which it's intended. The reel itself screws under a mechanism designed to keep it attached, and the lures and case alone would probably retail for $20 at a lot of outlets. It's got pretty smooth action to it, also.

(It works pretty well to entertain the kitties, although it's a little long for indoor use. You probably could saw off the top eyelet without too much trouble if desired.)
