This a great reel for the money. It is very smooth and casts great. If you want best performance though take it apart when you get it and clean and re-lube the gears and bearings. The gears are pretty dry and the bearings had grease on them. After doing this it is even smoother.

This Daiwa Reel is just perfect for bass fishing .I have purchased 2 more sine the 1st purchase.High speed crank in reel.Dial this reel in and you will have very few backlashes from this reel. Quality reel from Dawia

Overall it is a good real. Although 2nd time within 1st year the nut to the handle came off and the nut cap has broke. Daiwa sent me new cap for free. Reel itself is very nice and I have used quite a bit. Daiwa needs to leave the plastic nut cap (handle nut plate) off future models. It is useless and is only for looks (if it would stay on).
