high performance spincast reel,

I've owned many Zebco spincast reels and love them. However, from time to time the ones I've owned jam. I've been looking for a high performance spincast reel that has similar quality and performance to my Shimano spinning reels. I decided to try out Daiwa's Silvercast Reel 80. Gotta say, you will not be disappointed. The level of quality is amazing and it hasn't jammed yet. It's a fresh water reel, but I mostly go saltwater surf fishing and then just hose it off when I get home.
Honestly, I've been scratching my head wondering why I've wasted my time and money with my spinning reels. For under $30, it's less than a tenth of what my Shimano reels have cost, but I use it more. It's worth a try if you're looking for something you can keep with you in the car and go fishing on the spur of the moment.

I've tried 4 diff. reels myself plus 2 for my wife in the last 6 days, 4 from amazon and all returned but 1,and this 1 beat them all,as a last ditch effort to find the best under $40,I tried for my 1st time the old best of the best zebco 33,& I lie u not, at the fishing hole, the 1st cast I made, the release button broke or 1 side of it,if u remove bk cap or own 1 u will see why,its plastic trash, not like the old 33s.Two other fishermen who i swear where fishin with old 33s liked to hav died after lookin at it,plus I tried a red rhino(junk)and 3 bait casters(will never do that again(a tangled mess for my trouble and $6 return shipping, thks amazon)so take my advice buy this reel and join amazon prime its awesome!P.S my wife has made sure I ordered another 1 (I just did prior to this review)so I would quit asking for jus 1 more cast with hers.Because me and her both hav decided the shopping is over ,so she took the 1 recieved from amazon,(good thing I had it gift wrapped).

Well, I was skeptical as I have used the Shakespeare T series for a while but was looking for a stronger reel and the big T-20 was disappearing from the shelves and stock in general so I ordered this Daiwa Silvercast 170. I like it very much. I like the single handle with a rubberized knob. I am using it with 20# Hi Seas Firewire. When I first got it spooled and tested it with a 3/4 oz. casting weight, I was able to cast about 20 yards farther than my T-20 with the same MH 6' 6" Ugly Stik. It's not cheaply made. Metal throughout. It's definitely heavier than my T-20 but I had planned to use it for still fishing on the shores of Lake Erie where you have to be prepared for BIG fish. This reel will do that.
