I've owned this Bible for several years and have found a wealth of information. I caution anyone, though, it is one man's opinion after years, and years of study. It isn't God's commentary. There are many helps to work from and, again, like any other commentary, they are all a human's opinion. No one, I repeat, no one has all the answers but Finis Dake was one well read scholar. Read the word and form your own opinions but study, study, study, to show yourself approved - rightly dividing the truth! Thank you!

A very good study Bible BUT.... you should know what you are getting into. Mr. Dake is a charasmatic and many of his doctrinal views reflect this stand.

The Dake Study Bible ennumerates EVERYTHING! While very enlightening at times, it can also be distracting and trivial at others. Overall, his commentary, historical analysis and observations are VERY GOOD. Be aware, however, that, in his numerous marginal notes, Mr. Dake has MORE TO SAY THAN GOD DOES!

Also, Mr. Dake is DEATH on God's Sabath, Holy Days, Laws, and the Identity of modern-day Israel.

The bottom line is that the Dake Study Bible is a fine-print Bible immersed in an ocean of even finer-print commentary. Due to his copious marginal notes and semingly endless subheads, when Mr. Dake is right, he is REALLY right! and when he is wrong, he is REALLY wrong!

With these cautions in mind, I would hartily recomend the Dake Study for intermediate to advanced Bible students.

I spent years as a Pentecostal and Dake's work was a major source of doctrine for me. I had to eventually come to reject it due to its historical errors (e.g. misquoting early Church fathers), and heretical views on important things such as the nature of the Holy Trinity. He teaches that the three persons of the Trinty each have a body, soul, and spirit like men. This is tri-theism and not traditional Trinitarian theology believed by the faithful for two-thousand years. It is interesting that Dake was a major influence on charlatans such as Jimmy Swaggart, Benny Hinn, and Roberts Liardon.

I believe that The Dake Bible is the best ever written. I dissagree with some points that he may have in his commentary, however, I find that he is very biblical and accurate. The challenges that he offers is wonderful for preachers and teachers alike. I believe that any young preacher and nutured alike should possess this treasure. I am sure that any would find that this bible would be opened more than any other. I have read all his commentary and have preached from this bible for more than 15 years and have not regretted purchasing this bible. In fact, My wife gave me a new one for Christmas and I passed the other one to a co-worker and then many at work wanted one and have purchased one of their own. I strongly reccommend this bible to anyone who really wants to know thw Word of God!!!!

I have a PhD in Theology and I have found this bible to be an invaluable tool. I read the reviews listed before mine and I must say that I cannot agree with them. I think that we must all understand that the comments in this bible are a mans thoughts and that anything that is mechanical is subject to failure/misunderstanding. I am Pentecostal/Holiness and therefore aproach the bible in this way. I share many of the same insights that Rev. Dake did and therefore found this to be an invaluable starting point. I would not recommend this for some other friends and fellow Christians who do not have the same beliefs. I have used this bible as a place to start from and nothing more. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is just starting out or even someone who is a seasoned studier. I give it four stars because unless you have the large print the script is pretty small.

BRUCE METZGER, PRESIDENT MCCORD, DR.CAIN FELDER, DR.STORY, ET AL BEFORE I GRADUATED FROM PRINCETON THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY, AND BOSTON UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW AND WISH I HAD INSTEAD SPENT THOSE 6 YEARS STUDYING THE DAKE ANNOTATED BIBLE AND IT'S COMPANION BOOK "GOD'S PLAN FOR MAN".

I've studied from other Bibles, but I always end up coming back to Dake's Annonated Reference Bible when I want the "real deal" 99% of the time when I am looking for a Scripture but don't know exactly where it is, with Dake If I know just one word it will be MORE than ENOUGH!!!

It isn't easy for this Christian to pan a Bible, but I honestly can't recommend this at all. The scriptural deviations mentioned by other reviewers start pretty much at the first page and should be matters of grave concern. Add to this the fact that there is so much information here that I found this Bible extremely difficult to use. Notes often run from column to column or page to page and are sometimes impossible to follow or even find. Many pages in Dake have more notes on them than Scripture. Buy just about any other study Bible. Leave this one on the rack.
