4.0 out of 5 stars Very Happy With My New Pack
Very well made. Durable. Great color. I like: The depth. I am 57. I don't own a car and I bike, walk and bus everywhere. A pack is a permanent part of my wardrobe. This is deep enough to hold tall grocery items and wide enough as well. It's tough enough to handle fairly heavy loads. It has enough pockets to help me stay organized with bus schedules, books, and personal...

2.0 out of 5 stars BLUE WITH GREY TRIM - NOT BLACK TRIM
I bought this pack thinking it would be blue with black trim. It turns out this pack actually has grey trim.

I am very disappointed.
I posted a picture of the pack i recieved

However, the design of the backpack is very nice.

It has enough pockets to help me stay organized with bus schedules, books, and personal items I carry. Overall Love this pack. My Dislikes: wish the insulated pocket was a little deeper to hold a full lunch. My water bottle and coffee container get pushed out occasionally if I sit down and the pack hits a chair arm or something similar. Would like rings or something I can hook on a carabiner to prevent that from happening. I would also like quick release fasteners on the bottom of the shoulder straps to mke it easier to remove the pack especially when I have a heavy load. But keep in mind, this is a great pack.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compact, durable, and stylish, August 6, 2010

I love this backpack. It isn't huge, but I can still fit two 2" binders and two large textbooks into the main pocket. When you don't have it filled all the way, it doesn't look empty and lumpy like most backpacks. I have owned it for about 6 weeks, and so far I haven't run into a situation where I couldn't fit everything I needed. Besides the large main pocket, this backpack has one sunglasses pocket, one organizer pocket that can fit a small paperback book, and one cooler pocket that can fit three energy drink sized cans (at the expense of taking up a bit of space in the main compartment -- the pockets do not pop outwards like most backpacks.)
The compact size is great for airplanes, crowded places, and fitting into my bike basket. Plus it looks sleek and stylish. The inner pockets of the plain black backpack I got are a light blue-grey, and the organizer pocket has a Y-shaped interlocking pattern in it.

I was just barely able to fit my 15.6" widescreen laptop into this backpack. It works fine, but I have to coax the zipper around it whether I have my laptop in a case or just in the built-in laptop pocket. This might be annoying for someone who takes their 15.6" laptop in and out of the backpack all the time, but I haven't been bothered when I've been using it frequently on trips. I'm sure anyone with a smaller screen size would have no problems.

This backpack is super durable, and I believe it is waterproof. The zippers work wonderfully, the handle seems unlikely to fall off, and the straps are solid and comfortable though not extremely soft or gel-like. A bonus: if you forget to zip the main compartment, your stuff doesn't just fall out. The zipper goes halfway down, so the contents can't open it any further.

Overall I would recommend this backpack to anyone who doesn't have larger than a 15.6" laptop or need to carry around boatloads of things at once. It's great!

the product was shipped quickly and arrived within a week of ordering. The pack is very roomy, and sturdy. It has an inside sleeve for a laptop and it keeps the laptop protected well during travel. Has mesh pockets on the side that work great for a water bottle. The only thing I wish it has was a zip pocket on the side of the bag for my laptop cord. Other then that, it's a great bag and I recommend it if you're looking for a laptop backpack!

5.0 out of 5 stars just the right size, December 28, 2010

I was worried the 'small' one wouldn't be large enough when I bought it. Turns out, it is exactly the size I was looking for. It fits a 13" macbook and everything you need to carry around as a theoretical physicist in grad school without looking bulky. The base is not large enough to stay upright without support, so you will have to lean it against something, but I guess that's not unusual for a backpack.

this bag so far has held up well to the mass amounts off books i carry in college and i enjoy the cooler in the front pouch that allows me to have drinks cold from a ggas station rather then paying the ridiculous prices at the college for drinks

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect bag with perfect size, July 16, 2010

I don't go to campus but I like the bag. It's the perfect size I was looking for.. not very large and not very small. Some may find it small if they have huge bricks as an excuse for a laptop but if you have a 13" or 14" wide screen laptop it will fit nicely. It is light weight and simple. The only improvements I guess can be....
An added pouch for mp3 player or cell phone on the shoulder straps and
Replace the top ring/handle (now it feels like they used a cheap little thread made with left overs.
These will make it a complete bag, even without them its the best daily use bag I every had.

Bottom line, if you want a simple, light weight daily bag this is the best. The mainframe design looks fine to me!

5.0 out of 5 stars great backpack, August 6, 2011
This review is from: DAKINE Men's Campus Pack (Sports)
The backpack has plenty of space, is very comfortable, and I have got many compliments on it. The pockets are big enough to fit a few college-sized books. The fleece-lined pocket was a great idea that works very well. The laptop liner is also great. My only complaint is when I used the insulated pocket, my water bottle started "sweating" and water seeped through the pocket and made fabric inside the pack a little damp, but I don't think it was enough to damage anything. Overall a fantastic buy and easily the best I could find for the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Little small and mis-engineered., July 13, 2011
This review is from: DAKINE Men's Campus Pack (Sports)
The small version is a little too small for me and the pencil holders dont really work because they are too tight or shallow for nearly every writing utensil. Other then that is is a quality dakine product and the look is VERY cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool, April 19, 2011
This review is from: DAKINE Men's Campus Pack (Sports)
Wellll,

I was looking for a small-ish backpack that would hold my 13" MBP. Because of the small selection of cool backpacks that meet this requirement in my country I opted to buy online (which was arduous) After searching I singled out Dakine as the my preferred brand of choice, and it turned out to be a great one.

Amazon were the only ones which would sell it to me internationally, good quick delivery etc etc

The bag is amazing, low profile, great amount of space, cushioned laptop sleeve. Not to many little unusable spaces; seems like they designed it specifically for me. Its strong, feels good when walking around (although with a laptop and lecture books it can be a bit heavy being denim and all). The straps are sturdy and mummy says that the stitchings all good on them (yay). I got the denim one cos I thought it looked the best but all of them were pretty snazzy, Dakine know how to make nice looking bags.

Two issues with it - I stained the demin when i left one of my red biros without a lid in it, now the denims blood stained looking. oh well. Secondly, the laptop sleeve isnt really that well fitting for my small laptop so I put my laptop in one of those padded case thingies before i put it in, unfortunately the case has a zip that catchs on the bags interior material whenever i pull it out, hence some not so nice rips in my new bag. *sigh*

All in all its perfect for me and I can't see anyone have the same problems as I did. Its pretty awesome having a bag no one else at school has because they don't sell them here. Hopefully use it right through college and Uni. If not then id happy buy another one

Lukke.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dakine Campus Pack, February 18, 2011
This review is from: DAKINE Men's Campus Pack (Sports)
Great backpack. I had something like this in mind and it came to life with this product! Small and compact, which I like, yet holds a good amount of school books and slim laptop. Nice look and color. My only complaint really are the extremely long straps on arms which look out of place and excessive. Other than that amazing!
