5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect compact bag.
First off, it is a compact backpack. It ends at the middle of my back. Don't try to cram 3 textbooks into it the main pocket, they won't fit. It can hold one college Chemistry book, and a graphing calculator. However, it's perfect for my purpose of freerunning around town. It keeps the weight up high, making balance easier. 1.0 out of 5 stars Not a "men's" backpack
Despite being described as a "Men's" backpack, this item is not big enough for a man. The storage compartment size, etc. is fine for a day outing. However, the straps are not nearly long enough to sit comfortably on your back. When it arrived, it looked so small I tried it on. I'm a 5'6" woman and the shoulder straps were barely long enough for it to sit comfortably...

It's got an elastic system to hold a jacket and the straps to hold a skateboard, which is nice for holding large jackets secure or putting my snowboarding helmet on. The outermost pocket can hold a regular sized water bottle, the elastic/mesh pockets hold my old 30G Zune, cans of pop, or my phone (a small one) secure. The upper small pocket can fit my wallet, a Powerbar, a nametag, and some change, but not much else. It could fit a small camera. One lesson I learned was to put the zippers of the main pocket all the way off to a side, because anything heavy in the small pocket will lever the bag open if I am running.

There is a chest strap that can have it's position adjusted, this was a major selling point for me as it keeps the bag secure. It has elastic attached to it to make sure the strap stays tight. The bag has centimeter thick padding, as do the straps. The handle and the straps feel strong and durable, with nothing becoming damaged in a month of hard use. I have worn it with a sleeveless shirt and it had not caused any major discomfort.

Great little pack. It is almost the size of a hyrdration pack. In short, it is perfect for traveling toddler (reason we bought it), but can also be used by an adult around the city.

Not many pockets but that is okay
Holds full size water bottle in side pouch
Chest strap perfect for toddlers

Not really useful for adult day hike - too small in my opinion.

I'm a 5'6" woman and the shoulder straps were barely long enough for it to sit comfortably on my back. I would recommend this product for a Junior high or young student, or maybe even a small teenage male, but it's too small for anyone bigger than that. Don't waste your money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Its a nice little bag but a bit smaller than I hoped..., November 19, 2011

I was asked by my other half to get a school rucksack for his 11yo nephew. Whilst I knew that the bag was small, I was hoping that being a men's bag it would work out to be just big enough. But now being actually being able to hold and look at the bag - I'm sure the biggest compartment would be just be enough for his lunch and some bits and bobs, but theres no space should he have homework.

However, it should be ideal for my friend's 6yo son, but in the meantime I have look for a replacement bag for the nephew.

4.0 out of 5 stars Color is perfect, size not so much..., October 10, 2011

I absolutely love the color of this product is bright and fun, perfect for a toddler. The being said, this backpack was listed as a mens backpack which it is not; it is way too small to fit me as a grown adult male. I bought this backpack as an alternative for my son for kindergarten (the backpack he uses currently is a little big) and if it was too big for him when received I was going to keep it for myself. It does not fit me, but fits my 5 year old son and my wife perfectly. Dakine makes great products and I would definitely recommend purchasing this backpack for a smaller individual.

4.0 out of 5 stars Small But That's Why I Bought It, September 19, 2011

I'm a 40-something adult male who's been previously using a 20" Ogio backpack to carry a 15" laptop, power adapter, sunglass case, eyeglass case with eyeglasses, computer eyeglass case with computer eyeglasses, and dental care kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, mints). With even those basic contents, the bag was a heavy load on my back. Plus it looked more like I was going camping rather than going to my place of business.

So I decided to downsize, converted to a 10" netbook and searched for a new daily gear bag. I tried the FUL Ditty ful Unisex Adult Ditty Mini Backpack. And while it held all that gear, was the right load on my back, and had a business-clean design, the zippers were bulging from being a little overpacked. So I looked again and found this bag. It has plenty of breathing room for all the above gear but not too much where I'm overloading my back and looking like a pack mule. If you need to carry a lot of gear, books, and/or a laptop, then this bag probably is not for you. But if you want a lean, just-the-basics backpack with netbook containment, this pack is near perfect. I would hope more bag makers design backpacks at this size and with a business professional lifestyle in mind. Until then, the Grom pack will do.

I bought this for my nephew for school. He picked it out and loved it. The only thing was it was a bit smaller than he intended, but I am guessing that was because he did not read the size.

3.0 out of 5 stars Quite Small, but nice quality, September 7, 2011

The other reviews are true ... this backpack is quite small. We ordered it for my 8 year old son and it was the right size for him but doesn't hold much in it so he can't really use it for school. It would work well as a light day backpack or for skiing or something. It just isnt big enough for a school backpack. It is nice quality though.

This bag is small, but it is great for day trips or when you do not need to pack a lot of things. I use mine at college and I love it.

Don't get me wrong this is a very cool back pack. I don't think I could say this better than my wife when I tried it on. She said 'looks like you robbed it from a kindergartener'. Not really for an adult. My fault for not really looking at the dimensions. Returned it for a Kelty 30 Day-pack. Awesome!
