It was finally in 2002 that I took a chance on getting Tito Nieves' 1998 release, Dale Cara a la Vida. You see, although I took Spanish in high school and college and grew up in NYC, I only listened to salsa that was sung by Tito in English. But I was terribly mistaken for omitting this one from my collection. This fusion of salsa with r&b, jazz, and pop makes this work of art an absolute masterpiece! Although all 10 tracks are unique, hip-moving, and worthy of the rewind button, both Y Que De Mi and Mi Sombra Tu are my favorites. Tito is just as passionate with his lyrics in this recording as his previous works, if not more. I can dance as well as make love to this one all night long! I listen to Dale Cara a la Vida in both repeat and random mode more than any other in Tito Nieves' discography and you will to.
