More About the Author

Dale Breckenridge Carnegie (originally Carnagey until 1922 and possibly somewhat later) (November 24, 1888 ??? November 1, 1955) was an American writer and lecturer and the developer of famous courses in self-improvement, salesmanship, corporate training, public speaking and interpersonal skills. Born in poverty on a farm in Missouri, he was the author of How to Win Friends and Influence People, first published in 1936, a massive bestseller that remains popular today. He also wrote a biography of Abraham Lincoln, titled Lincoln the Unknown, as well as several other books.

Carnegie was an early proponent of what is now called responsibility assumption, although this only appears minutely in his written work.[citation needed] One of the core ideas in his books is that it is possible to change other people's behavior by changing one's reaction to them.

This is a book my dad read when he was right out of college. My wife picked it up a few days ago in the new version. This Book is so incrediable and has great stories too. It is an easy read with great ideas and ways to look at life through someone elses eyes & ideas. We have a 15 and 18 year old daughters who will be required reading along with my 25 year old son. You won't regret buying this book!

I ordered this because out of a team of three, I won a new one. I told them it was used, but it was fine. I spent much more on the shipping that I did the book.

I have been a fan of Dale Carnegie for quite some time. His writing is very positive and extremely influencial. How to handle other people and how to handle your self.... I abosolutely love his books. "How to Win Friends..." has been a standard go-to book for me for a very long time. When i heard about this book i immedialty had to buy it. It is a gathering of quotes, small stories, interesting thoughts, and quick little notes that Mr. Carnegie had accumuliated over his years. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a Dale Carnegie fan. you cant go wrong!!

This is a great book to add to any library. If ever in doubt, just open any page, and the wisdom therein will speak volumes. Very uplifting and practical. I like to pick my "quote of the day" from this book.

Dale Carnegie's Scrapbook is a fabulous collection of some of this great author's best insight. The book will likely captivate the reader from cover to cover, yet even a brief sampling of a randomly chosen page will yield enormous satisfaction and glad contemplation.
