Spectacular from top to bottom, Dale Tiffany's petite dragonfly table lamp offers a bright burst of nature with a truly uplifting spirit. This member of the Museum collection (and one of the designer's favorite themes) showcases a 12-inch umbrella-shaped shade encircled with amber, yellow, and cream dragonflies on a jeweled background of blues, reds, and greens. Finely detailed (notice the tiny segments of each wing and the cleverly contoured bottom edge), the glass colors blend and change as if the morning sun is playing lightly on a country lakeside scene. Below, the ornately carved metal body features an interesting octagonal shape with four flared feet perched on a stepped four-arm base. The antique bronze finish keeps the look warm and inviting, which is wonderfully fitting for such a whimsical piece.

I purchased this lamp because I liked the way it was described in terms of size and colors, and the way it was pictured. The order arrived within the week, and the lamp was packaged well. The base is heavy, looks good, but I am displeased with the colors on the shade. While the dragonflies are OK, the base color of the shade is mostly green, and dark green at that. Even with a 60W bulb it looks very dark - nothing like the picture. Without the light on, it looks almost black. Very disappointing!

We own several other Dale Tiffany stained glass lamps and this one is the same high quality we expected. The glass is very colorful, nicely soldered and finished. The base is high quality and nicely finished also. This lamp takes two of the new small base bulbs. (They look like, and are the same size a regular bulb but with a small base the size of a night light bulb instead of the standard sized Edison base) The safety sticker says to use 40W bulbs but we have been using 60W bulbs in similar lamps for years. I think it's more of an energy saving thing more than a safety precaution.

In years past we have had a lot of problems with lamps arriving broken because of poorly designed packaging. This is certainly not the case with this lamp! The styrofoam packaging is form fit and made to cradle the shade from within and without so I think it could take even the roughest of UPS tossing. Not one piece was broken or bent.

If you need a smaller sized accent lamp, this is certainly a very nice one.

I don't write too many reviews but the last review was so lame that I wrote this one. Dale Tiffany brand is considered the high end of Tiffany lamps. While most big companies only have a limited Tiffany line, Dale Tiffany specializes in Tiffany so their items are top notch. They use the original copper foil technique hand soldering the highest quality stained glass so you can really see the difference. Last reviewer complained that the shade is too dark when the lights are off?! If you want light to go through the shade while the light is off then the stained glass has to be thin without any deep colors but then you won't get the vibrance of the shade when the light is on. It's a catch-22. So, if you want to show off your lamp by turning it on, then this lamp is for you. If you want to see through the shade, then a Walmart brand is for you.
