Appears to work
We planted the t'toes using the film. Although we live in a coastal area with much overcast the plants are growing well. Many blossoms but no fruit yet.

Just skip it.
This didn't do much for me as the plants without the red plastic performed the same if not better than the plants which I put it around. Once the plants get large and shade the plastic it's useless anyways. I think it's more of an urban (or rural) legend that the red actually makes any difference. Save a few bucks and buy an extra tomato plant if you want more tomatoes.

Tomatoes were ok, nothing great. Plastic is very thin. not worth the money. And the vendor I bought from doubled the shipping cost for a second package,even tho it only added a few ounces. Ripoff.
