We have a problem with woodpeckers thinking our house is a tree. They bore holes in our wood shingles. A good size hole takes about 20 minutes. We have hung the "scaretape" from all our windows. It blows in the breeze and reflects the sun. This scares the woodpeckers away. It works quite well. We have not had a new hole since we started using the tape. I would certainly recommend using the "scare tape" to anyone who has woodpecker problems.

This holographic tape worked perfectly for a mockingbird who was driving me crazy. He was seeing his reflection in my windows, and banging away ..like defending his territory. My problem was that he was pooping everywhere on my porch and dirtying my windows. The mockingbird is the State Bird of Texas, and so illegal to kill. I was ready to kill the little fellow..... so this tape saved the bird. Now I watch him in a nearby tree, and he watches me. So I would say that this is a great product. I am renovating an old house and the third story just was invaded by pigeons who sound cute but like to crap everywhere (windows are open to nature). i went to Lowes to purchase some sort of netting that would keep the pigeons out and he recommended this stuff. It has lots of sparkly sections that make you think of a snake, or more importantly makes a bird think that.

I just taped it to the top of the windows and let it hang down loose. Then i watched a pigeon sitting on the gutter above the window and then swoop down to go inside OH MY GOSH A SNAKE!!! and he aborted.

Problem solved.

Hoards of sparrows were invading my garden this year. They love peas of course, but I made a netting fence. Then they started to eat my chard, and this is the first time they have ever done that. Extremely agressive. Then the raspberries were ripening,and I could see them just waiting.

I hung the bird tape, like a maypole all over the major part of the garden. The sparrows fly over, want to dive in, and veer off. Have had the tape now for 4 weeks, and my raspberries and other plants are quite safe. This is so effective, I ordered 4 more for next year.

I was skeptical about this product, but given the price I said "why not" since I had these pesky birds using my covered patio as a haven from the Arizona heat and my patio furniture as their personal toilet. I cut (4) three foot pieces of the ribbon and clipped them onto a closed yard umbrella positioned close to my covered patio (sort of like a wind chime) and it's been several months now without a sign of white dung anywhere on my patio. Apparently the reflection paired with the regular breeze we have produces enough movement to keep the birds away. I couldn't be happier with this product. It doesn't keep the birds away entirely we still have them visit the edges of the yard, the waterfall of our pool along with some of our flowering plants mostly the smaller finches and hummers (all about 50 ft away from the tape), I could add some more tape in different areas but I don't really care if they're at the edges as long as I have a clean place to sit.

Woodpeckers can do a lot of damage really fast. My house has cedar siding, and they really like it. I use this product along with irritape -- tape both of them together with duct tape and hang from windows, or beams outside the house. What's good about this product is, it's light and thin, so it doesn't take much wind for the tape to move around like a snake. The irritape moves less, but makes a snapping sound. Both products need to be replaced periodically -- last about 3 months before they wear out and snap off from the wind (house is in the mountains -- Tahoe). Best solution I could come up with after lots of research. Woodpeckers have concluded that I'm too tough to do business with, and have moved their operations to the neighbors. BTW, they have no unions and work 7 days a week.

I had at least three dozen birds sitting on my view fence every day making a mess. I cut the scare tape into 18 inch pieces and taped them to the fence. they blow in the wind and I have never seen a bird since. It works wonderfully.

Well this product just doesn't work for sparrows. They've incorporated it into their nests! Kinda funny. This is just plain old reflective ribbon you can pick up at walmart for a buck - but that's not the point. IT JUST DOESN'T WORK. Totally worth the price I paid - for the laugh.

I had been having a huge problem with birds crapping all over my deck and I tried everything from a fake owl to literally going out on the deck each time I saw birds to try to scare them off only for them to keep coming back. This scare tape was my last hope and what do you know - it actually worked! I just tied one 3 foot strip of tape on the railing on each side of the deck and it scares the birds off. The tape flaps in the breeze scaring off the birds and they no longer bother my deck and are no longer making a mess. I can't tell you how happy I am I don't have to hose my deck off every day anymore. It's nice being able to save time and money on our water bill and to be able to go right outside to sit down without having to clean a mess up first.

Last year I used this tape to keep birds from eating my strawberries and raspberries. It was 100% effective! I tied 10 8 foot pieces of tape together and attached them to the top of a 10 foot piece of PVC pipe. The PVC pipe was held upright by placing it over a piece of rebar that was hammered into the ground in the center of my garden. The slightest breeze makes the tape move. Between the flashing and the sound of the tapes hitting each other, I protected a 24' X 24' area.
