This annual details and assesses the most recent projects and developments in German architecture, providing an objective overview from the German Architecture Museum. It is illustrated with many colour and black-and-white photographs, together with detailed plans, not only giving an overall impression of each project but also illustrating the key design features. It is because this reference also examines some of the most important issues facing architects and planners in a series of up-to-the-minute essays that it is considered both reactive and proactive, providing a forum to discuss and examine possible directions for the future. Recent topics have included city planning in the states of former East Germany, with a notable analysis entitled "Berlin 'More Beautiful Than Ever': Reconstructing East Berlin" and "Urban Development in Dresden as an Example of Cautious Urban Renewal".
