Dogfight

In this classic deathmatch mode players test their abilities against up to seven other competitors. With a host of modifiers, you can customize your games to create a level of challenge that matches your skill level.

Team Dogfight

Split into teams to see who can win this battle in the skies.

Survivor

All players begin with a set number of lives and then fight until only one remains. Players need the all-round skills to be the last man standing over a number of rounds.

Team Survivor

Teams of players work together to eliminate the other team. All players begin with a set number of lives, and the last team with lives remaining is the victor.

Scratch One Flattop

Two teams battle to sink each other’s aircraft carriers in this epic aerial battle. Use dive bombers and torpedo bombers to attack the enemy’s carrier with cover and support from your fighter wing.

Join Forces with Online Teammates and Conquer Campaign Missions Together

Up to four players can team up to tackle the campaign missions together. If all players are at the same point in their campaign progress, new missions and planes become available in this mode.

Sim and Arcade Modes Challenge Novice and Expert Pilots Alike

Perfect for pick-up-and-play gaming, Arcade mode simplifies the control scheme and gets inexperienced players right into the action. Once you master the basics, switch over to Sim mode to gain more precise control over each aircraft.

Perform Intense Aircraft Carrier Takeoffs and Landings

Not limited to in-air combat, certain missions in Damage Inc. Pacific Squadron WWII accurately replicate one of the most challenging aspects of aerial warfare - - landing on the aircraft carrier from which you launched. Just as you would when preparing for a real battle, take control of your plane and get it airborne. After obliterating the enemy, guide your aircraft back to the flight deck to complete a successful mission.

Compatible with Flight Stick Controllers, Including the Pacific AV8R FlightStick

Styled after WWII combat aircraft and custom-crafted to perform with Damage Inc. Pacific Squadron WWII, the Pacific AV8R FlightStick imparts the sensation of true flight. With a soft-touch rubber finish for extreme comfort during extended missions and a grip similar to those found in historic military planes, the precise control required to conquer the enemy and rule the skies is in your hands.

Flight sims are so few and far between these days that I was really excited to get my hands on this game. Truth be told, it's not "bad", but I was expecting a lot more. I'm a huge fan of of Sturmovik and Birds of Steel and I was expecting this game to at least be on par with those considering they are 3 and 2 years old respectively, but Damage Inc. fell short of both of those games in pretty much every way. Although the framerate is decent, the graphics are lackluster and unpolished (just a little anti-aliasing could've gone a long way). The controls are somewhat awkward and I found it frustrating that in order to change views while flying, you actually have to pause the game and select a different view from a menu versus just pushing a button mid-flight. The sound quality was decent, but the voice acting did get on my nerves, although this was also often the case with some of the missions in Sturmovik. In closing, this game is passable, but after a few hours, I turned it off and put Sturmovik back in since I consider it to be superior to this game in every way. Red Box this game if you can and if you find yourself liking it, then make the investment to buy.

My overall rating is 2.5 stars, but I decided to round up because I am a sucker for WWII flying games.

This game is very much like Heroes Over Europe (except that this one is set in the pacific theater of war). The gameplay is very arcade style, although there are a few settings to give you more of a 'realistic' feel. If you are a hard core flight sim fan this game will likely disappoint. For a 2012 game, it just seems like the final product has 'budget title' written all over it. There is nothing that is significantly better than Heroes Over Europe (which is a three year old game). Fun for a while, but this is no IL-2 or Birds of Steel.

Pros:
- arcade and simulation control setup
- good graphics for plane models
- pretty easy trophies (if you care about that sort of thing)
- entire campaign can be played co-op (2-4 players)

Cons:
- campaign was short (~8 hours to beat on Hard)
- poor graphics for visuals (sky, ocean, terrain, etc.)
- framerate issues (both in single player and co-op)

For anyone who bought this game at full price - I'm sorry. It is definitely not worth $60, but at the current $20 price point it's not bad.

I love fight simms and this one is enjoyable to play until the game play started to corrupt and freeze. i didn't care for lack of customer service to address my problem from Mad Catz. Corruption that developed seemed to be confined to game files- Although I did rebuild the HD and file system several times. Its very frustrating to have to delete all program, saves, and trophy files after playing for several days to fix the hard freezing planes vanishing in the middle of a game . I still have not received a good explanation for why this happens or much assurance that it will not occur again. I experienced a similar problem with Blazing Angels PS 3 a few years ago with an entirely different PlayStation. .

I bought this for my 15 year old grandson. He really likes it. I got the joy stick that goes with the game. He really feels like he's flying. This is a perfect gift for WWII enthusiasts and airplane enthusiasts alike. I would recommend it highly.

I bought this game with pretty high expectations. It had some good review and a couple of poor ones. This game is an example of I should have put more stock in the poor reviews. The 360 and PS3 are at the end of their life cycle and you would expect that games released now, wouldn't have framerate issues as bad as this game. I gave the game the benefit of the doubt on the first level, when I was sputtering around Pearl Harbor, due to the massive background. But when I was sent to Midway island, with little to no background and I was still sputtering around, I knew I was in trouble. The frame rate was responsible for poor targeting, it's hard to shoot down an enemy, when he's in one place one second, then the frame rate stutters and he's not where expected in the next frame. I had thought that the price drop was for the Christmas season, I soon learned the hard way, that the price drop was probably due to the poor execution of the game. Don't get me wrong, this game probably isn't unplayable, but it's hard to recommend even at it's current bargain price. If you can accept the poor frame rate and consider it makes the game more of a challenge, then I would say give it a try as a rental. Save your money for a better WWII aircraft game. I would recommend IL2 Sturmovik, Heroes over Europe and even Blazing Angels as better alternatives.

Why would you want to go into slow motion when you push down on the L3 controller?

Messes up the game play

I spotted this game on the shelves at my local store and being a frantic of flying having played Blazing Angels 1 & 2 I figured why not try it. I was not disappointed considering that the missions are long and it does take sometime getting use to flying with the controls but the action sequences are amazing.
