That's right, the Win95 version of this game (which was originally developed for the Mac) runs beautifully on all three of my WinXP machines with no tweaking. This is an old squad-based first-person shooter developed by Paranoid Productions (see also "The Suffering" from 2004 - the PC port is tremendous) back in 1997. It is built on Bungie's Marathon 2 engine, so no 3D card is even required. You can control your squad individually, or as a group. Sort of a precursor to the original "Ghost Recon" game. Being such an old game, the graphics are primitive, but do a nice job of evoking a sense of place. Level design is good, though not stellar. Each of your squadmates has a name and a certain look, so if one of them gets killed during a mission, you will miss him in later missions, as he will no longer be in the pool of soldiers to choose from. You'll be calling them aloud by name each time they do something stupid, which happens, since the pathfinding is not the greatest. You will be doing some 'sheepherding' from time to time. Each soldier in the pool to choose from has their own strengths and weaknesses. And while I don't really believe this, they seem to have their own personalities as well. A terrifically fun game for retro gamers, even if you tossed your Win95 machine years ago and are running XP. I don't have Vista, so I can't comment on that.
