Product Description
Removing a screw with a stripped/rounded head is one of the most-frustrating problems for any handyman - unless you have the right tool. These reverse-threaded extractors (turn counter-clockwise) have a tapered head so the further they turn into the head, the harder they grab until they overcome the resistance of the screw, bolt or stud. Fit in sockets or die handles to use by hand or in power drill - squared ends prevent turning in chuck. For some fasteners, you may need to drill starter hole in center of head (use the largest-size extractor that's smaller than fastener shaft).

I guess you have to drill a pilot hole in the screw for these to work. I haven't tried that yet, but you can't just stick them in a stripped screw and have it drill it out. The part a drill grips onto it is square. That's good if you're using the right special tool for these, but makes it awkward to attach on a drill.It's a nice set, but don't expect to just throw it on your drill and pull out a stripped screw.
