Keep in mind that this is not a vocal selections book; this is the condensed piano/vocal score of "Damn Yankees", complete with pit orchestra cues written in, some dialogue lines, instrumental underscoring, etc. Also, it will match the original 1955 version, NOT the 1994 revival. For those vocalists who want just the "meat and potatoes" of the songs, this may be too overwhelming.
But, what a show! Witty lyrics, fun orchestration, and hummable tunes! Recommended for those who want the songs in the original key, those who want to see the original instrumentaion and own the full score, or those music directors/conductors/musicians who want to analyze this tuneful score. |
