Gorgeous boot,

These Dan Post boots are a winner - I highly recommend. They are beautiful (the dark brown Bay Apache is much much better than the photo) and so comfortable. Sizing is perhaps slightly large : I normally wear a 7.5 in boots (up to 8 in regular shoes) . This 7.5 is a little loose, but I can still comfortably wear it with normal socks. I did try with a thin insole, which worked a treat too so then it's like the shoe hugs my foot. So I guess it's just a personal preference. My heel, which is very narrow, does not have problems slipping from this boot, unlike with other boots.
I love these so much I now have two pairs, in the dark brown and tan, and plan to complete the set with the black. The leather of dark brown boot is slightly heavier and feels thicker /stiffer (is this what goat leather feels like?) than the tan, which were like wearing my most comfortable trainers straightaway, but the dark brown boot felt great after about 1/2 an hour. I also noticed, with the dark brown, that the top edge of the boot was initially very stiff and uncomfortable as I moved my leg against it but it softened nicely after a few wears. Now I find I just want to wear these all day around the house as slippers they are that comfortable. I also love the distressed leather sole - gorgeous!

I've revised my review several times. The bottom line is, the tan boots have cracked, wrinkly leather that is very thin. Polishing them increases the cracking. They're very comfortable and fit like a glove. The dark brown boots have thicker leather but didn't fit as well, even in the same size. The brown is very dark brown with little variation. Otherwise, they're nice looking boots in both colors.

These boots are really nice; great quality for the price, and they fit true to size. I had to hold my breath when I first tried them on; they are really hard to pull on the first time. Wear thin socks! After a time or two, they were fine and feel very good on the foot.

I haven't had a pair of western boots since college - 30 years ago! These boots are great.Nice "finish" and height is ideal for jeans in or outside of the boot. They do run big so I had to re-order a half size smaller than what I usually wear and they are perfect.

These are great boots I was searching for short red boots which was not easy. They were out of stock so I was thrilled when I got a message that they they were in , in my size. They are true to size and very comfy and look great with jeans.

I got these as a present for my wife. She loves them and wears them a lot. She takes a line dancing class and says the were comfortable for the whole class period from the first day she wore them.

I love the Style, Color, and fit, but they're not as comfy as I would like them. I added insoles and that helped.

After reading all the great review, I decided these were the boots for me. And I was not disappointed! Excellent quality, great price. I haven't had cowboy boots in years, and these are both cool, stylish, and make me feel strong when I wear them. I did order a half size down as other reviews said to do, and it was perfect. Now, my problem is that I want more!

These boots just arrived at my home the other day and they are absolutely gorgeous!!! I have only had the chance to wear them one day and already received compliments. One lady even said that she can tell how high quality they are because she can smell the rich leather. This morning I walked into my walk in closest and the whole room smells like the leather - just wonderful!
They were really comfortable when I wore them for a longer day of being on my feet yesterday. It seems like the right boot is smaller than my left boot (or is it that my right foot is larger than my left??). I really struggle to get the boot on, especially on my right foot and the heel of the boot feels narrower against my foot. But, knowing that they are made of such great leather, I have no doubts that they will soften and mold to my feet. I never splurge on this pricey of a shoe, but so worth it! I have always wanted to buy a real cowgirl boot and I finally have it! I have purchased other knock-off boots and they have not held up for more than one season. I plan on these lasting me many years. If you are considering buying this boot - take the leap! You won't be disappointed! |
