I was looking for a book on interior design for my mediterranean home and initially passed this book up because I thought it'd be just house plans. I came across it at a friend's house and was surprised to see the wealth of photos of the *interior* of finished homes--not just the plans.

Definitely something for your collection if you are building or buying a home in this style, I picked up several ideas that we'll be implementing into our home.

This book has some of the finest examples of modern Mediterranean architecture I've seen. It has lots of beautiful photographs as well. A great buy!

Sater's work is absolutely amazing! The book is great for people looking for plan or decorating ideas. One day I hope to be able to hire Mr. Sater's firm to design a home for me!

I bought this book when my new home was a twinkle in my eye. I love the mediterranean home. I had this one on my wish list at amazon. My daughter saw the list and gave it to me for Christmas. Turns out it's the best gift I've gotten. I have carried this book around with me now for 8 mths, and still using it. I worked with a designer on our custom home plans, and now using some ideas on the interior design of my home. Awesome book!

A Dan Sater book is as much a class act as his designs. I gladly recommend all of his books, this one included, to home buyers, design enthusiasts and design professionals, alike. Ideas galore! and a lot of look for the price. Even if you're one to just want to look at gorgeous interior design photography, there is plenty to see. Each page features lavishly decorated luxury estate homes in full high-gloss color. If you've never experienced a Dan Sater book, what are you waiting for?... Treat yourself! You won't be disappointed!!

I did not buy this book for the floor plans, because i have already chosen another plan. I bought this book for the interior decorating ideas. My home will not be as lavish as these, but you can get some really great ideas from the beautifully illustrated book. I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a Mediterranean style home.

I am going to start by saying that I can not currently afford the types of houses they show in this book, but if you can, then I highly recommend this book. There are numerous high quality pictures of the highlights of each design and a brief description to go along with them. My only concern about these types of homes (Not affecting the Star Rating or Mr. Sater) is that there is so much extra wasted space and unnecessary angles in these types of homes. It is almost like they design the outside first and then build the floorplan to fit. Again, Great Photos and Exterior/Interior Styling and there is no reason not to buy this book!

Dan Sater has wonderful designs. The homes are beautiful...great photography. It makes you want to see the building materials list!

I have a library full of interior design books, morocco and mediteranean design. This book however has nothing, really nothing to do with mediteranean design. It is better subscribed as " having to much money and building tasteless American design house"
With all the respect for American design of course But this can not be called design, yeah in the 60's maybe..
The only nice thing is the good layouts / plans of houses. But all of them are ugly really...
I can't understand the rating for this book, perhaps cause I am Dutch..

I have seen numerous Sater designs of all sizes and types and have decide that his design are the absolute worst in term of aesthetics and practicality. I dont understand his popularity and how he gets his junk published. It is beyond me. I cant imagine the type of person who would think his plans attractive in any way.
