4.0 out of 5 stars Junior Gymnasts - Dana's Competition, May 13, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Dana's Competition (Junior Gymnasts) (Paperback)
My six year old daughter loved this book. I really enjoyed listening to her read it, too! It is the story of a group of nine year old girls who are on a Level 5 gymnastics team. In this first book of the series of six, the girls are getting ready for their first competition. The story is very realistic and engaging. I would recommend this book to any young girl interested or involved in gymnastics.

4.0 out of 5 stars My gymnast is loving Junior Gymnasts, March 8, 2011
This review is from: Dana's Competition (Junior Gymnasts) (Paperback)
Kiddo has been in gymnastics for a year, and just switched gyms to where meets and competitions are a possibility should she choose to do that later on. I heard about this series and am thrilled to have found them for her as she wonders if she wants to do competitions or not.

The story is well written, and engaging (she read all but 1 chapter in two nights) and she loved the 'note' at the beginning of the book from Dominique Dawes.

It follows a realistic set of gymnasts as they prepare for their first meet, and shows the struggles and fun they have as they start the adventure.

I'd definitely recommend the series as a fun and fictional, though realistic exposure to gymnastics for anyone with a young gymnast in the family...or who is considering it.
