I bought this machine out of desperation. It appeared to be well designed and contained a dehumidifier and humidifier and an air filter.
It was available at a nearby store and I paid more than I should have for it.

Well, I read bad reviews of this thing (about 60/40) but bought it anyway, and I have the topper for them all This piece of junk stopped working after FOUR HOURS OF OPERATION.

It did really well for the four hours. Now its little digital display won't light up, its bucket indicator is full, but there is no water in the bucket. I'm taking the trash back to the retailer today and buying a Kenmore at Sears instead.

AVOID THIS PRODUCT. DO NOT BUY IT.

I purchased this device on-line from Sylvane. Unfortunately, I believed the product review that was done by Consumer Reports. In this case, that was a big mistake.

After one month of use, the unit started making a constant buzzing sound whenever it was plugged in, independent of whether it was turned on or not. When I called the Danby warranty service phone number I was told that since I purchased the unit from Sylvane I would have to return it to them for service.

There are three service centers listed on the Danby web site. An incorrect phone number is listed for two of them. All three said they no longer service Danby products.

This combination dehumidifier, humidifier, and air purifier, which is a Canadian product that is made in China, is worthless. Don't waste your time or your money on it.

If I could have rated this product with less than one star I would have.

LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS. We had a similar experience. Our machine worked for maybe a few months, but then it just stopped working. Nobody ever answered at the customer service line (that is, when they were even open / available) and replacement parts are pretty much non-existent. Biggest waste of money I've ever had.

I have used this nice looking unit for about half a year or less. It worked nice enough originally. But soon the fan started making alot of racket, like the bearing was going out or something. Now it is so bad it won't even run at all. I took the shroud off and the fan is definately the problem. It wobbles like major! It looks like the shaft is bent, and the bearing is definately shot. The worst part of it is, it looks like it is almost impossible to repair it because the fan is apparently about the first item installed on the unit. And all the copper hoses and compressors and radiators are installed all around it. Probably would ruin the seals if you tried to start taking it all apart. Very disappointed! If the fan is such a piece of junk, why not make it accessible to replace? But it looks like nobody is having any luck with support on it so I suppose it will just land in the dumpster.
