1.0 out of 5 stars Geared for older children March 7, 2013
By Erika
Format:Hardcover
My 7 year old daughter checked this book out at the library. I did not find this book appropriate for the ages it states. For example, there is a picture of boys and girls at a dance with one boy's hand on the girls breast, while another girl's hand is on the boy's bum. A page later, the girls have a conversation like this... "have you ever done it with a boy" that goes on further to state that a boy would probably dump you after so its best to wait. I found this to be a totally unnecessary and inappropriate for the stated audience and story line. After that, we were thinking maybe this was meant for tweens/or teens as we noticed on further inspection that the graphics are a little overly sexualized with a lot of large, perky and differing breasts on all of the girls. But no, this book is written for for 6-11 year olds and I just don't know another parent who would want their daughter reading this in 1st to 3rd grade. Basically, there are about a million other better books that don't sexualize girls or talk about 'doing it with boys' so I would recommend to pass this one by.
