I bought this cd many years ago, but it has consistently remained one of my favorites. I'm not a huge fan of "world music," but this album is just so wonderfully beautiful and exotic. The music varies between the airily light-hearted and the darkly romantic. This disc is also a blessing for those unfamiliar with the didgeridoo, a simple instrument with unbelievable range. The 'doo, along with guitar, violin, and numerous African percussion instruments, creates an incredibly unique sound that has to be experienced. Buy this spectacular album, and look for Outback's other release, "Baka."

Outback's first CD Baka was pretty good, but Dance the Devil Away outshines it brilliantly. There is a lot of variety on this one, from melancholy melodies to buoyant rhythms. Cradick is truly a skilled guitarist and musician (even if he does play an Ovation), as is Graham on the didgeridoo and LeMercier on the violin. The great mixture of instruments works very well, creating an original sound. Definitely a great investment. If it was a choice between Baka and Dance the Devil Away, I'd get Dance the Devil Away.

Who would think that a didgeridoo and an acoustic guitar would blend so well? Dance the Devil Away and Baka (Outback's debut) are two of my very favorite CDs, and certainly my favorite "world" music. These guys manage to mix Celtic, African, Middle Eastern, and Aboriginal influences into a funky collage of sound. Dance the Devil away indeed! Makes you believe that the world really does stand a chance.

I bought this CD not knowing anything about it. I liked didgeridoo and that was the only reason for buying it. I loved it immediately. The guitar is actually one of my favorite parts. Martin's style is very unique and fits perfectly with the rest of the band.
Great fiddlin' too.

If.... YOu like world music, but not any one ethnic style in particular. This album has a great mix of traditional to little hearted toe tapping beats that will really get you in a good mood, no matter what situation you're in. If you want an album that is VERY easy to listen to then go for this one.

I love this CD and listen to it all the time. I got it from my dance teacher and the class loved it so much that we came up with a dance to go with it and now compete with it. All of the judges comment about the great song. (We use Animal Life)

This music is what you use for a dance with anyone! The beat and the didgeredoo are so AwesomE! i highly recommend it to anyone who needs a nice break from the alternative bands, the run of the mill music. Even better its from Australia!

I've had this CD for years and it never ceases to amaze me.

The coherency of the instruments and quality of recording puts it at the top of my list.

The rhythms are executed with ease and would lend one to believe that it is just a simple arrangement but the complexity resides in it's eclectic mix. Somehow they not only made it work, they rocked it big time!

One of the most outstanding albums of all time. I'm not kidding.
Guitar rhythm backed by incredible drums, didg hoot-growl-humm, and romantic haunting violin, etc. This stands alone.

Medina is crazy with extremes. A third way in Paddy makes the violin come apart like all the strings fray. Total build up and break down, it grabs the soul. Crux of the album.

World genre at it's best. Will blow your mind in a good way.
