After 10 years, I still LOVE this tape, July 20, 2000
This review is from: Dance to Fitness [VHS] (VHS Tape)
In fact, I'm on here looking to get a new copy because my copy's audio track is worn out. First of all though, I have to admit, I'm biased. I loved the album Jody Watley put out that has the songs this video uses. And the video does only use her music, so it can be repetitive especially if you don't like Watley's music. I also have to admit that I love this style of dance. I agree with the other reviewer, some of the steps are a little difficult. But I found over time that I learned them. I also firmly believe in "if I can't do the step, just march in place or repeat the last move until another switch." Really, there are only two steps that are difficult and you can easily march in place to them. I hadn't used this tape for some time though and pulled it out today. I wanted something different. It felt great! I would highly recommend this tape.

The ONLY One I Return To...And STILL Have a BLAST!, March 1, 2006
This review is from: Dance to Fitness [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Over the years I have pulled this tape out from time to time to get back into shape. Again, I found myself going back to this old yet very hip stand-by. And I'm STILL hooked, after all these years. I have gone from barely able to get through the first 10 minutes to now being able to get through the whole tape, still wanting more, but yet getting a great workout. It's far from boring repititions that I've found in other tapes, and though some people may need direction on all the steps, I've always been more of a visual learner so it works for me. Besides, personally, I prefer the way that Jody directs this workout, with a few positive reinforcements throughout, but not overwhelming, as with other workout tapes. Fortunately, I was able to get this tape when it was still in stores, but I'm thinking that it won't be too long before I'll be searching for it again to replace my worn-out tape. BUT it's still holding on strong after 16 years!

Still In Love With This Video, September 8, 2006
This review is from: Dance to Fitness [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I bought this video when it first came out in 1990 and I still love it to this day. I just ordered another copy of the tape as a backup, because I will be upset the day my original tape no longer works. In fact, I was really hoping I could find it on DVD.
It is great for me in two ways.
ONE I love the music. I am big Jody Watley fan.
TWO it is a dance video. Since I love dancing it does not feel like the typical aerobic workout, and I don't get bored.
If you are not a natural dancer you could have problems with the steps, but it can be overcome. Plus, unlike most aerobic videos that guide you through the steps( telling you to use your left foot when the instructor is actually using their right to give you the impression you are working the same side), you will have to focus more initially on the dance steps and which way to move.
I typically watch all workout videos first before doing the routines. I did the same with this video and worked out in what direction to do my steps.
Once you know the routine, it is easy to pick back up (even after a year).
I definitely recommend the video.
Enjoy!
