Does not look like the $$ product it is, but it works and I use it from time to time when practicing Tango and Waltz - really does correct your dance frame or "reminds" you of where your frame should be.

Its best to have a professional instructor show you how to properly put it on and make sure you are using it correctly.

Other than that - great product and in the long run definately worth the $

I have been taking ballroom dance lessons for about 2 years. Maintaining my frame throughout a song or routine can be difficult as fatigue sets in. I also would have problems with crowding my partner for certain turns, especially in Tango. This device looks like it is based on the similar shoulder horn used in weightlifting, except more expensive. I struggled with dropping the money on this device and debated the issue for a long time, but I am so glad I did; though I bought it cheaper somewhere else.

What I like most about this product is that it prevents you from cheating and relaxing your frame. While the tool forces you to keep your arms up and shoulders back you still can rest your arms on the device. However, it doesn't take long for that weight to transfer to the top of your shoulders, giving an unpleasant feeling. Thus requiring you to hold your arms up just off the bar. Since using the frame trainer, my posture has improved and I have been told by both my instructor and dance partner my lead and frame are much better. I still crowd my partner now and again, but I am much more aware of it and can now feel when I do it right and wrong.

The cost is steep, especially compared to the price of a shoulder horn, but this is also a specialty item designed for a specific use. However, when you contrast the time spent to correct it on your own with an instructor, it easily pays for itself in just a few lessons. I think it can also reduce the time to learn new moves. I use it each time we begin something new. In teaching the Law of Primacy states "what is first learned is best remembered." So it's important to make sure you do it right. For me, the Dance Frame Teaching Tool does this extremely well.
