This is a busy workout that gets you moving fast and working hard. Of course, you're not going to get it the first time through or the second or the third. It would get boring way too soon if you could do the whole thing the first time you try it.. Trying to do the moves is what keeps you coming back to this video. As you do the videos over and over, your body learns to move faster and your muscles get stronger.

Each time I do one of the videos, I concentrate on specific moves or sections to try to do them as fast as Julianne and as sassy. As long as you keep moving, you're burning calories. It's a fun way to exercise and it's really rewarding when you have improved enough to do the whole thing and hit all the marks. I've had the videos for several years and I intersperse them with other types of exercise like aerobic weight training, bicycling and running to keep variety in my regimen, and it still is a strong workout each time I do it. There are all the little details, like placement of the hands, arms, toes, etc., to concentrate on that keep me from realizing how hard I'm really working. When I'm done with the routine, I know I've had a good workout.

There's a nice warmup and cool down with each program. I would recommend these DVDs to anybody who wants to improve their reflexes, balance and musicality while improving their fitness. And Julianne's hot body and cute presentation gives you inspiration to keep going.

I ordered the two dvd set with ballroom dancing and just dancing. The Just Dancing was terrible. The problem is that if you are not already very fit, or young, the dance moves are way too fast moving and difficult. I danced for years, but now at 44 years of age, this is too quick for me.
The two stars is for the ballroom style dvd because it is slightly easier, but I still found it hard to follow. I think these dvds would be fun for very fit teenage dancers, but not for many ordinary women.
The best thing about these videos is Julianne's fun personality, but that didn't get me dancing.

Dancing with Julianne Hough is so much fun! She makes it extremely easy to learn all the steps and with her fun personality you are done with all the dances before you know it!

I would highly recommend this DVD Dance Workout to anyone who wants to firm up and get into shape because it really works!!

If you hate following complicated choreography, or if you just want a little cardio, then you probably want to skip this one. But if you are actually trying to transform your body and you can put one foot in front of the other without falling on your face, this is one to add to your collection. I LOVE to dance, but have never trained as a dancer. And, yes, I have a lot of trouble following Julianne and the other two perfectly toned ladies on this DVD. But, boy, I am in a full drenched sweat at the end of my workout. I have noticed that a lot of people are frustrated at how it's difficult to follow the steps. Yes, it is, I will give you that. But I don't worry too much about following their steps exactly. I just try to do it the best I can, and that alone is enough to work off tons of calories. The point of exercise is to get up and move. Task accomplished!!

I just purchased this and have only done the cardio ballroom. Tomorrow I'll do the just dance workout. Overall, Julianne and her workout was fun and I was laughing along with her. I am by no means a dancer, I have taken a few dance classes before for fun.

The cardio ballroom was definately a workout and was a lot of fun; however, she explain the moves pretty fast even though she repeats them a few times and does half tempo. I also did the private lessons before starting so I wouldn't end up hurting myself. Even with that, I had a hard time looking as graceful and doing all the steps she was doing. Half the time I was just kicking in the direction she was moving the direction she was.

It was still a great workout and I was sweaty afterwards and will keep doing this workout and overtime I'll get the moves down, but if you're new to dancing and expect her to teach the moves slowly its not for you. She goes straight into the workout.

Ok, this is my worst review to ever leave. If you are a beginner, this dvd is NOT for you. Although, she shows 4 moves before the work out, they did not help me at all. She has two helpers with her and one of them supposed to be doing modified moves... haha... the camera doesn't even show her. Really?! Another fault, she shows new move and camera focuses on her face. Huh?! I NEED to see her legs so that I would know what to do with mine!! I am really disappointed.

She states that she can teach anyone to dance, sadly, she couldn't teach me. I couldn't get past the first lesson, nor could my work out buddy. We are women (mothers of two each) aged 30 and 35 , used to doing Jillian Michaels workouts and I purchased this DVD to change it up, we quit after two failed attempts and now it is just collecting dust on my shelf. Ah live and learn!
