4.0 out of 5 stars Accessible and Fun, March 16, 2003

OK, so even a class act like Richie succumbed to the all powerfull (albeit brief) reign of disco. Thankfully, the affects are not fatal and only seriously infect one song, "It's your Love". All that can easily be overlooked (after all it was 1978) in light of the overall charms of this record. Either from maturity or record company pressure, Richie has backed off the more direct spiritual refrences that were the mainstay of his previous release, "I've Got a Reason", in favor of sweet love songs. He even does a nice cover of The Drifters' "This Magic Moment". The arrangements are simple and fun and the musicianship is excellent, featuring the likes of Timothy B. Schmit (the Eagles), Chris Hillman (Poco, Desert Rose Band), Jim Messina (Poco, Loggins & Messina), and ... David Cassidy (Partrige Family)! Though I have always been a bigger fan of "I've Got a Reason" (see my review), I find this one is spending alot of time in my CD player.
I'm not sure if these reissues have been digitally re-mastered, but this one in particular sounds crystal clear. No bonus material, but all original info is included (credits, lyrics, art work).

5.0 out of 5 stars great forgotten sounds, March 4, 2004

This album is really worth the price. Richie took his time to craft some beautiful heartfelt intimate songs, in the tradition of the best california sound of the seventies. It leaves you with positive feelings as the voice, the rendition, the tones convey such optimism. Richie Furay's "dance a little" finds its place somewhere between John Denver and Dan Fogelberg music. If you appreciate these artists, you will enjoy this release...a release that may be forgotten today, but cherished by the happy fews.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very spiritual album indeed!, December 29, 2009
This review is from: Dance a Little Light (Audio CD)
This was Richie's second solo lp. mixing secular songs with some deeply spiritual yet unobtrusive tunes. "You can live forever, forever and a day, Just say it whenever, Aint no taking it away." I really appreciated this record because he seems to be comfortable with his new found spirituality and his folk background, a mix he would carry on with some of Maranatha! Musics' praise albums-no mistaking that tenor! I wasn't a Christian when I bought his first solo album and it seemed 'foreign' to me, backed by strange musicians, who I later found out to be 3/4's of Lovesong. But this, followed by Dylan's Slow Train,...well, it was a great time for me to enter into faith. And this is a great sophmore effort!
